For Malaysians no difference. Malaysian no need to meet the $3600 requirement.

Can say that Hr bodo or not confident to get u EP, so get S pass.

Or maybe she told u that maybe u will get S pass because application form can tick both category and MOM decide which one for you.

But no difference to you also la. Company need to pay your levy not u fork out money to pay government also.

Maybe the company no more EP quota?

U very lucky ah 25% increment!
*
EP dont have quota..

Goods brought into Singapore are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST). However, inbound citizens, Permanent Residents and tourists are allowed a tax relief on goods valued up to:

$600 if away from Singapore for 48 hours or more, or
$150 if away from Singapore for less than 48 hours.

I heard many saying better to wait for like one to two years plus or better after first tax submission.

I'm in finance too (FA, not manager)
In my experience the Finance Manager role for big companies can be around the 7-10k range
So you can gauge yourself, depending on whether you have a lot of FM experience, have a big team reporting to you, etc
*
listed co finance manager's salaries are around that range.

MNC's FC or FM salaries also around that range, but they usually cover the whole Asia Pacific's region.

i am more concern with MOM when they receive company A application for my EP then cancel (if B company offer me)
then B company apply EP again for me.

Only tender once you got the In Principal Approval letter for EP application for the Company B's job . laugh.gif

hello sifus !!!

i might be going to sg soon for work ... have a question, accomodations - i am looking for a master room with toilet ... cant share because i smoke (i know this is bad) ... any recommendations on which area to stay ? and the rental $ per month ? ... i saw some being advertised for sgd 550 - 700, but not sure whether the area is "good" area (hopefully near my office area) ....

pretty lost here, going over next week for interview, i have the qualifications, most probably interview is get to know each other more/office introduction ... and the really dreadful salary negotiation (accomodation in my point of view will "eat" up a big chunk of my salary.. if i have the figure can negotiate the salary better)

forgot to add, office is at chinatown area
*
Try hougang/ serangoon, take purple line to work.

good location pretty subjective if you asked me.

I would suggest you to look for location which is ( 1 bus stop away from the mrt station )

550-700 is the market rate nowadays for single occupancy for common room, which is good and spacious for one people.

Master room definitely going for 900-1200 laugh.gif

My peer group in KL now making abt rm12-14k as Finance Mgr in mnc... and im making less than half that for a similar role. A MNC manager here maybe 6k to 10k nia max, so the conversion ratio for my industry at that pay grade seems to be abot 1 : 1.5.

But im hoping to get a "promotion" on my way back la, so that can be a 1:2. Try to sell myself higher with sg experience and all that bullsh*t
Eh where did u go? I tot u always in sg one?

you sudah balik Malaysia ? thought you still at besar4 sg?

This is true from my observation as well. What S'porean consider as ulu, is actually sap sap sui in terms of travel journey for us M'sian. Just get a motorbike. COE for motor is still acceptable. But those ulu/remote places you mentioned, all are manufacturing - biomedical, chemical, pharma, construction, OnG refinery, F&B, etc...

the best is got free company bus, cannot OT , need to catch company back home laugh.gif

Whoops I just requested a new Singpass cause that's what the ICA woman told me lol
I'll let you guys know if this works too
*
Actually, if you have the singpass with EP registered, you need to go to onekey@ international plaza to update the detail, afterward u can use back your singpass like what kovin has mentioned earlier.

But i have not did it as well..

very busy lately. rclxub.gif

QUOTE(justified @ Apr 13 2017, 01:59 PM)
Hello all. Am new to workforce and will be having final interview round with prospective boss in Singapore next week..

A couple noob question

Will be working in a start up, relatively small company. Is it by law, that employer has to cover employee health insurance/benefit?

Secindly, since we don't get cpf unless you are PR, does the company usually reimburse you in a form of cash,  allowance etc?

Thirdly, is yearly bonus provided mandatorily?

Any other sort of information that you think I shld be aware of when discussing about working contract?

Thank you all 😊
*
1)Believe most company will provide u medical insurance for you to see doctor, medical in Singapore is expensive.

2)While for bonus, most of the company will give 13th month/ AWS as mandatory i think.

3) Not much company reimburse the CPF ( except big4 audit firm i think)

Guess what popped up in the mailbox today?

A letter from ICA... Application of PR. Submitted on 20+ Nov.

That's just like few days pass 5 months. Cool...
Btw... If I have just renewed my EP last September (09/16), only required to take HIV blood test but not X-ray, do I still have to go and take the medical examination or just fill in the declaration?

Next step in life... Easier employment biggrin.gif
*
congrats.

you still need another medical check.

time to book for PR formality date
