Don't apply for PR if you don't want to settle here, you will not be able to withdraw out your CPF portion until you're 65 years old. For me mainly is the lack of job opportunity, house, education for child(i'm young but thinking about this already hahah), and overall life quality as compared to Malaysia.

can withdraw between 50-55 yrs old if give up PR

If you are still working in SG and have submitted your IRAS tax in the past year, guess it wont have any issue for you since you wont be tax resident for Malaysia.
However, anything can happen in bolehland.

You might want to have detail readup before do such transfer imo.

you still can be tax resident in msia even u are tax resident in sg, obvious example is those that commute daily from JB pre covid or some that still work from home in JB during covid.
in this situation u will kena tax for the sgd u remit back next year

there is double tax relief/ double tax treaty arrangement depending on the country, however not sure whether malaysia IRB will ask u to pay first or not only.

the main issue here is the retirement fund, if one cash out the CPF retirement fund and move back, for income, for sure you can get away on the taxes with the double tax treaty arrangement.

However, anything can happen in bolehland.

no, this tax is not related to the double tax treaty as not all your income in sg will get tax but only the money that you remit back to msia.

i already explained here https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry103235733

CPF also will kena if you remit back on that year you are tax resident, it's already confirmed by accountants, don't need to doubt anymore unless they u turn and cancel this tax stuff
