IPA =/= Approval? Is it safe to tender resignation upon receipt of IPA then?

Hi guys

I have just put in my resignation (notice of 1 month)  into my current job due to work politics and will be hunting for a new job
My question is will my future employer be able to check my previous employment records in Singapore ?
The bad news is that I only spent 5 months in my first job in Singapore and do not feel comfortable disclosing it to my next employer.

random background check is conducted before the IPA..but only if your application smell fishy. Nowadays I would say an EP application will take between days to weeks to process. No fixed timeline

I would treat IPA as a formal approval unless you fail ur medical checkup which is not likely happening (if you got HIV or TB you should go home and receive treatment, not change job). If you already got treated for TB, go back to the clinic with ur report and get a declaration from the doc who fail you.

The next step after IPA which is call issuance of employment pass, which is the card. This is mandatory, no approval or disapproval. Only issued or canceled (by you, ur employer or HIV)

woodland checkpoint is no where near the Woodlands MRT...you'll need to take public bus...

There's a few dropoff point for express bus...check google maps for nearest mrt stations...
if didn't personally request, the common dropoff would be Golden Mile/Complex and the nearest MRT to it would be Nicol Highway...

if u take Aeroline, they'll drop u at Vivocity and you are near HarbourFront mrt station...

BTW open question to all, are PR in Singapore considered as Foreigners or Citizens?

Um here's the thing i am looking for an answer.
I'm am investigating if PR can apply for baby bonus .

MFS Babybonus say i can apply babybonus and CDA for PR baby but may not get.
They just gave me documented answer that only citizen can apply.

POSB say PR can open CDA account but check with MFS.

I asked ICA and the reception answer was "it depends"...

I had no choice lol company send me to Malaysia for work purpose.

Hello Dear /k.. been a silent reader for some time.
Got an offer from SG but is a contractual 12 months jobs.
Been in dilemma for a week..

Dollar to Dollar 1:0.85. If purely on monetary wise, i guess it is a no brainer.
The concern is more on job security and slightly on benefits.

I have 6.5 years of working experience in mech eng. Yesterday a recruiter call me ask for my details n expected salary. I said sgd 5k. is it too much?

Afrer 4 years of being an expat here in MY, I decided to jump to SG to work. Mainoy financial reasons.
My EP is still processing but chances are it'll get approved. So hopefully by end of January I will start to work there.

I'm currently starting to check on places to live (my office would near raffles place Station) but I'm ok with 20-30mins ride.

Is there any place/area that I should avoid in looking for a room to rent?

My budget is around 900-1200sgd

It is disheartening to hear from so many people that many engineering jobs are getting low pay both in Singapore and Malaysia.
Wonder whether I should discourage my son from going into this field. Qualifying for a place in UTM  already needs a high CGPA what more Electrical Engineering is considering a tough course. Computer Science is easier to get in n study and the pay seems to be better.  

After getting his engineering degree from UTM my son intends to pursue his Master oversea and stay back to work. He is interested in Robotics/Automation/AI.

happy holidays everyone.. stuck in a dilemma about future of my job.. am in my mid 20's now and here are my options for the next Quarter:

a) SGD50,000 PA continue my job in Singapore and live alone with rent.
b) SGD42,000 PA but shift to KL office, rent free and spend in MYR.

Same job scope, same position. Im in the midst of applying PR as well if that helps.
