For me i just use a contract free mobile plan (Gomo) + my MyRepublic broadband subscription for my place. If you can get a combo plan for both that is cheaper, absolutely go for it. Do note that MyRepublic recently sold its mobile division (excluding broadband) to Starhub so i don't know what the future arrangement is going to be.

Wasnt aware that MyRepublic had a TV plan but i guess you should consider how much you would watch realistically before committing to a 2 year contract.

can wait for IT fair ...at least can save 3 to 6 months of fees ..

Hi, recently obtained a software developer job. Company is based in Singapore, while I from Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur.

I am planning to rent a HDB unit.

So some questions I have:

i) Let's say I need to be in office 5x a week on weekdays, is it okay to travel back lets say every weekend now that borders have reopened? Tiring and expensive or not?

friday flight to singapore- Sunday back to malaysia. Flight around RM530. excluding the transport from airport. Singapore public transport is relatively cheap at SGD 2 from Airport to orchard. But malaysia one would kill you. its also tiring

ii) If let's say I can negotiate and allow myself to work from home, and once in a while only need to go office, can I work from my house in PJ/KL?

iii) Use what mobile plan? I will still need a mobile line in SG and will be renting a HDB unit as well. Will travel up and down between Malaysia and Singapore very regularly (family reasons)

Mobile plan is quite expensive in singapore. fiber wise its cheap. malaysia you can get unlimited on mobile.

iv) Any other concerns I should be aware of?

What is the fastest way to cross the border now? Used to park at JB and take the bus, but it's usually very crowded and will take few hours depending on time.

Also, if it's going to be on a weekday after lunch time, is it still busy?
