The 4K display, Sony wants to be the first (which they did!) and continue to offer for consumers. I dont mind the 4k display as long they have resolution settings like in S7/Edge, you can manually change to HD/fHD/2K and 4K for this phone. This way can prolong the battery life.

I'm so looking forward for this phone! That 960 fps is killing me. Previously this feature was in Japan only model (I forgot the brand).

This is only half of the story. The camera, beside producing pictures, also act as VIDEO recording.

Sony use no optical stabilization (OIS). Currently the 5-axis stabilization by them would produce the best video output. Avoiding optical stabilization also comes with some advantages, as utilizing OIS only results in videos that have a noticeably wobbly effect around their edges. You have to give Sony the thumbs up for the video department, whereby this had no competitor come close to Sony.

As a tradeoff, no OIS sensor would need lots of post processing in the still image. First it capture the image with its whooping f/2.0 19mp 1/2.3" sensor then start the image optimization, and by EIS & downsampling & adding dynamic lightning, etc etc. Every layer of post processing will takes a beat to the image quality.

I believe Sony had already had in mind what should be focus more and no doubt the video recording is what they focus more on. on the other hand they will still tryhard to make the image to be as close to the other competitor as possible. It still takes good photos to an average person for their mobile photo usage (fb, instagram, etc) whereby not much difference if it is taken that into consideration.
