QUOTE(midmay @ Mar 1 2017, 09:55 AM) this is the one with snapdragon 835 right? if so rm3199 seems pretty reasonable to me, after some 821 processor flagship phone was selling at 2999? seeing more and more ppl carrying an iphone 7 these days, where the cheapest option also costs more than that so what is 3199 la anyway

found out that they still using the same gimmick as Z5P https://www.lowyat.net/2017/126411/sony-xpe...emium-hands-on/QUOTE On the other hand, just like the Z5 Premium before it, the Xperia XZ Premium dynamically adjusts its resolution to conserve battery. We’re told that for now, only two apps fire up 4K resolutions: Amazon’s Prime Video app (which also supports HDR playback), and the default Gallery app. Developers will presumably be able to adjust their apps to enable 4K; in all other times the XZ Premium defaults to 1080p. Sony still tirelessly use this trick to trick customers. What is 4K screen if without major app supports on it? even YouTube app also don't have 4K mode for Z5P. Might as well go for other phones with fulltime 2K screen after knowing this, XZP only left the slowmo video cam which is "exclusive" to them at the moment, eager to know what S8 will come up with, the leaked rendering looks promising

QUOTE(xisan @ Mar 4 2017, 02:43 PM) The 4K display, Sony wants to be the first (which they did!) and continue to offer for consumers. I dont mind the 4k display as long they have resolution settings like in S7/Edge, you can manually change to HD/fHD/2K and 4K for this phone. This way can prolong the battery life. I'm so looking forward for this phone! That 960 fps is killing me. Previously this feature was in Japan only model (I forgot the brand). For now it is 1080p in 4K screen The font is more grainy than even Note 4 I using Z5P hence I know In that case XZS is a more cost viable choice The same history of Z5 vs Z5P repeating

QUOTE(big1 @ Apr 14 2017, 05:13 PM) which one is easier to sell away? i mean, which has better resale value? FYI very few outlets including the telcos themselves are willing to take your used Sony smartphones they more prefer from the order of: Samsung, Oppo, Huawei (yes, even Oppo also they take, they just don't want your Sony ) I ll just keep my Z5P once I got my hands on S8
