Guys and Gals

We have some great news for you. Guess what ?. Finally , its possible to run Direct X 8.1 games on top of VMWARE . That means that you do not have to reboot to Windows just to play games. You can do that on top of OSX itself. We have Hardware acceleration baby , so you can bring your MacBook (Pro) to a LAN party and pawn those PC-n00b heads.

I have tested a few games

GTA III

GTA : Vice City

Star Wars : Jedi Knights II

It plays fine. You need to turn down the settings to low/640x480. On faster processors and with VMX , you can play it at a higher resolution. Its just fun to play games on top of OSX....

Here is a screenshot of GTA III [Windows XP via VMWARE] on OSX 10.4.8

Specs : Intel Pentium D 830 3Ghz [Mac reports it as 4Ghz] , 2GB of RAM , Nvidia GeForce 7300GT 256MB

I should be saving my money for a Pentium D 9xx series with VMX or a Core 2 Duo processor !
VMWARE Public Beta is currently available for Free of charge. You can grab your copy from :-

LOL. 640x480 on dx8.1 certainly does not "pawn" the "PC-n00b heads". They're in the dx10 era already. And really, it's pwn. PWN, people. PWN.

Well , i am not sure about that - You should 'Google for it'. Anyway , its pretty good for OSXers for a start. I mean , it was made impossible , now that we can run PC Games on top of OSX via Virtualisation , its just matter of time that we could use 'Darwine' or Wine for OSX' to run Games natively
