The first thing you should do is lodge a complaint against the lawyer for professional misconduct under section 94 of the LPA 1976 for negligence to conduct due diligence in the first place.
As for your query, you'll definitely getting back whatever fees that you have paid to the agent as well as the lawyer including legal fees. Further, in the SPA, there is a clause under the heading "Vendor's Warranty & Covenant" which stipulates that "The Vendor has not been adjudged a bankrupt, no legal proceedings pending before the Court.......".
If your lawyer fails to include that particulars Covenant & Warranty, then perhaps you should appoint another lawyer to get back whatever payment. Normally will be much more faster.
If you need assistance, you can pm me for more info.

keep chasing the lawyer & the agent & the seller to return u the money
At the same time
1. Report to Bar Council on the lawyer & lawyer firm
2. Report to BOVEA too. Www.lppeh.gov.my BOVEA is a governing body for registered agent, REN & estate agency. Your agent/REN should not claim his fees. CC to the agent/REN & his agency.
