QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Apr 14 2017, 10:38 PM) You can re-use everything actually, i5 3470 is still a very capable CPU to run latest titles. okay. so if i were to change gpu (rx 480 maybe or 580), do i have to change the mobo?

hi terence_nwbhow do u check if mobo is compatible with gpu or not? since u said mine can just upgrade rx480 without changing any parts, can i still go with rx 580? saw the price it's quite affordable. QUOTE(terence_nwb @ Apr 18 2017, 05:01 PM) It is supported as long as the mobo comes with PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (2.0 is ok too) and yes your mobo does come with PCIe 3.0 x16 slot so you can upgrade to any modern GPU in the market now without changing your existing mobo. ok thanks! another question which is a better brand for amd ? i see sapphire nitro+ rx 580 rm1.4k, msi rm1.2k This post has been edited by xHj09: Apr 18 2017, 09:33 PM

QUOTE(Kristal.S @ May 6 2018, 08:05 PM) I'm not sure whats your budget but you could consider upgrading to these and reuse the rest: CPU: i5 8600 RM903 MOBO: GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3 RM389 RAM: CRUCIAL D4 PC2400 8GB RM368 You can reuse the Cooler Master 212 EVO if you want to save some money. budget around 2k. what's a good suggestion for 16gb ram? i'm fine with single channel. cpu and mobo fine with any as long as can run ffxv 1080p constant 60fps, coz i'm currently running 60fps at medium settings (played about 40 hours then it started crashing/pc restarting today) looking at either i7 or ryzen, but if i5 8600 is good enough then i'll go with that

QUOTE(Kristal.S @ May 6 2018, 11:52 PM) You could opt for G.Skill Aegis 16GB if you're fine with single channel. Pretty reliable brand. CPU: i5 8600 RM903 MOBO: GIGABYTE B360M AORUS GAMING 3 RM389 RAM: CORSAIR 2666C16 2x8GB VENGEANCE LPX RM865 / G.SKILL D4 PC2400 AEGIS 16GB RM768 Have a look at the video in the link below. Only a slight fps diff between i5 vs i7. If you don't want to overshoot your budget, i5 8600 will suffice https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO1KqUxIFKYSeems like i5 8600 is good enough for the game. Thanks for the suggestion. Still upgrade end of this month!
