[Budget] - RM4,000 - RM4,500

[Purpose] - Gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] - New Rig

[Monitor resolution] - 1080P

[Games & softwares that use frequently] - PUBG, Dota 2, AAA Title @1080P with Med to High Settings

[Personal preferences] - Intel, ATX Build, HDMI

[Location] Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (planning to go kl/lowyat soon)

Hi, i would like to build a new rig for my little brother. Its been more than 5-6 years ago i build mine so a lot has changed. So my budget is around RM4,000-RM4,500 and if possible it will be included Monitor, Keyboard and Mouse.

I also wondering whether worth it or not to go lowyat nowadays to buy pc parts instead of buying online in term of pricing? Local computer shop at Kota Kinabalu doesnt have much choices. (Lets just say my flight ticket fare to KL wont be a problem)

Tqvm in advance for any suggestion.

If you can build it yourself, online may be cheaper

Core i5-8400 - 799
MSI B360 Gaming Plus - 444
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X1 - 259
Galax GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 EXOC - 1099
Intel 760p 256GB M.2 PCIE  - 299
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 179
Corsair TX650M - 379
Corsair Carbide 275R case - 319
Acer R241Y - 499
Logitech MK100 mouse and keyboard - 79 (estimated)

RM4355 total (Viewnet prices)

Ya i am going to build it myself. Tqvm for the recommendation. What if i change Galax GTX 1060 to Sapphire RX570 8GB Nitro+ or RX580 4G D5 Nitro+ to save some budget, would that be a wise decision? maybe add another 8gb ddr4 ram, will performance increase or decrease? what would be effected by it if i change?

What about these:

CPU: INTEL CORE I5-8400 RM870.00
MOBO: Asrock B360 Pro4 Intel LGA1151 ATX RM351.00
RAM: KINGSTON HYPERX FURY 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 RM249.00
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 WindForce OC 6GB GDDR5 RM1,105.00
SSD: ADATA XPG SX8200 PRO M.2 (2280) NVMe PCIe SSD RM245.00
HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA 1TB RM155.00
PSU: Super Flower Silver Eco 500W Full Modular PSU RM269.00
CASE: TECWARE NEO DUAL ATX RM163.00
MONITOR: Acer ED273A 27" FreeSync 144hz RM887.00
KB: TECWARE PHANTOM TKL RGB MECHANICAL RM159.00
MOUSE: TECWARE TORQUE PRO RGB RM88.00

TOTAL: RM4,541 (Shopee prices)

It's slightly cheaper to get them online (provided if you know how to assemble them).

Tqvm for recommendation, yes going to assemble it myself. if online is just slightly cheaper then i might as well get it from lowyat myself. what is the difference between g-sync and freesync? and the same question as well, would it be wise change gtx 1060 to Sapphire RX570 8GB Nitro+ or RX580 4G D5 Nitro+ to save some budget, maybe add another 8gb ddr4 ram?

Yeah but if you add everything up you might save around RM200-RM300? Freesync = AMD cards, GSync = Nvdia cards.

GTX 1060 6GB performs slightly better in gaming (see link below) but yes you could certainly consider RX 570 8GB to pair it with your monitor since the one I suggested has Freesync. 8GB ram is the minimum requirement and sufficient for most gamers these days but 16GB gives extra headroom. It's your call whether you need 16GB ram. smile.gif

Tqvm for the link. If it was you Kristal, what would u choose? GTX1060 or RX580? Actually I am quite skeptical towards Nvdia myself. Yeah I might save RM200-RM300 for online prices but I think postage fee to Sabah would be expensive if I order online and especially if order from different seller for the items, right?

QUOTE(TristanX @ Dec 7 2018, 03:17 PM)
RX580 is around the same performance as GTX 1060 6GB. 4GB VRAM is enough for the graphic cards for now.....

8GB is bare minimum for today's PC. Yes, 16GB is recommended.

So if it was you, what would u choose TristanX? GTX1060 or RX580? 16GB VS 8GB Ram, performance in gaming increase? Better?

RM3k is a bit low

RTX 2060 itself is like RM1650

If you budget CPU RM700 and motherboard RM350, left only RM300 for other parts...

8GB RAM RM220
PSU RM180
HDD RM 170
Casing RM 100

You need to budget around RM3400-3600 for a decent rig to match the RTX2060
Seagate Barracuda SSD is cheap enough to consider as well.

If you can save up another 2-4 months and reach RM4000, then also can have 16GB RAM, more reliable PSU and better casing to work in.

Tqvm for suggestion bro. Ya, I'm trying to push more my budget. Maybe up to 4K.

Ryzen 5 2600 Processor
Gigabyte B450M-DS3H Motherboard
Galax RTX 2060 6GB One Click OC Graphics Card
2 x 8GB (16GB) DDR4 RAM with Heatsink
FSP Hyper K 500W 80 Plus Certified Power Supply
Tecware Nexus M Case

This is what I have in mind. Is it OK? Anything to change?
And also, did anyone here bought rig from Bits & Bytes Technology (based in JB). Are they trusted seller?

Not with silly budget. CPU already RM500+.

So I can't get cpu build around 2K-2.3K without GPU? I thought I mention no gaming. Its only for browsing and office work.
