Hi Sifus, thinking of building my first ever rig.

My requirement is just having enough power for dual screen (1 wide-screen 2560 X 1080/ 1920 X 1080 - 144hz gaming). Wide-screen monitor is just for productivity, watching videos and mostly office work, no autocad or anything and the other is for mostly full hd 144hz gaming, mostly FPS.

Is this possible for a budget of RM4000 (rig only) with a casing with good airflow?

i had to assume you dont need monitors
price mostly from shopee

ryzen 3600 @rm730
asrock b450 k4 mobo bundle from ebucket @ rm1065 , mobo alone shud be rm340+-
3200mhz ddr4 ram 8gbx2 -RM420 , adata d60g or search deeper
500gb ssd - mx500sata @rm330 / adata xpg 8200pro nvme @rm410+- / CORSAIR Force Series MP510 @rm400
GIGABYTE P650B 80 PLUS Bronze 650W ATX PSU -rm250

Case
phanteks p400a non digital 2fan- rm310 (think kinda hot model, very less shop got non digital stock, rm400 for 3rgb fans)
corsair 220T case, rm410+- best case right now assuming u wont change to triple fan model in the next few years.

all thse around rm2450.
gpu
SAPPHIRE Radeon PULSE RX 5700 8G -rm1733
zotac rtx 2060 - rm1450
galax rtx 2060Super - rm1758

just pick what ever u can afford. for me, the rx5700 still kinda shit price unless u can find it around rm1.6k (this is for pulse version).
plain 2060 is ok imo.

Is there any difference performance wise other than aesthetics?

vrm thermal design  wise
pro4/k4 > steel legend M > steel legend

its fine since u using good airflow case as well. asrock b450 series vrm thermal design is better than other brand except MSi.
*also check/remind seller whether the mobo is updated to support ryzen 3600 , by right most of em already updated
*
Thanks a lot!

Hi sifus, I'm planning to build a mini itx for my gf using corsair nr200 with mesh on the side instead of tempered glass for better airflow.

Is it possible with rm5000 to rm5500 without AIO but good air cooling like scythe mugen/fuma. This budget only for rig as everything else already have.

I'm planning for ryzen 3700x and at least a good graphics card that plays 1440p well like the new 3060ti. Also, 500gb fast ssd and another 1tb normal ssb for storage

Can up budget a bit if needed but not more than 6k.

Hi sifus! I know its still not a very good time to build a pc but my friend wants to get one for 4k gaming.

His requirements are:

playing at 4k (so thinking to get a rtx3070ti/rtx3080)
Wants Hyte Y60 casing (technically he wants a cool looking casing like this)
SSD 1 tb is more than enough

Budget about 9k only for PC build.

Would appreciate if got any recommendation or can go a little higher up to 10k if needed.

Hyte casing is going to kill your spec due to high price. 4k is RTX 3080 12GB minimum.

Core i7-12700 - 1469
Scythe Mugen 5 - 219 (may need LGA 1700 mounting kit)
MSI B660M-A Pro Wifi - 700
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200 kit - 319
Gainward RTX 3080 12GB Phoenix - 4438 (Lazada)
Kingston KC3000 512GB - 429 (Lazada)
Corsair RM 850W - 639
Hyte Y60 case - 818 (Shopee)

RM9031 total (Mostly C-Zone prices)

Thank you Tristan!

Buy everything online and assemble it yourself might be cheaper. Also, Gainward RM4438 out of stock. Current ones around RM4600.

Alright noted. Hopefully can get some at cheaper pricing

Hi Senpais! As my pc now have been taken over by my gf, I'm now looking to get a pc for games and other media stuff in about April or May. Currently have a 1440p monitor that will be shared with a PS5

Looking at a budget of 5k. Will there be a lot of price difference or new components coming out by the time in April?

AFAIK nothing indicative for Apr. In May/June Ryzen AM5 will launch perhaps start selling 1 mth later. Intel 14900KS will be out in Mar/Apr but that CPU alone is likely RM 5k so its not for you.

Also to run 1440P, RM 5k is likely not enough for a whole system depending on what games you play, at what settings, and whats your target FPS.

[Budget] around 6k

[Purpose] 1440p gaming generally

[Hardwares that will be re-use] 6k only for the rig. Everything else i already have.

[Location] klang valley

As per what TristanX suggested, probably with a 4070 Super. Possible with around 6k budget? And generally 1440p with various types of games as long as its smooth enough > 60fps

Generally for 2k gaming rig, a good starting point is from RM 7k onwards
