Hi all.. would like recommendation for a stable rig... as cheap as possible but willing to spend if it is ok...

Basically normal home use... but might need some use for graphics from college assignment ... I think i5 and 8gb ram is sufficient.. any recommendations for a mobo?

B][Budget] minimum required but willing to spend a big more for a quality part.

[Purpose] rebuild a new PC... old one died already.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] all except CPU, Mobo, RAM

[Monitor resolution] 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] normal home use with light gaming... and perhaps for a teenager using software for college assignment

[Personal preferences] none really.

[Location] Penang.

Thank you !!!

Thanks but assuming if I want to get i5... which mobo is best for stability and potentially can use for another round of cpu upgrade?

QUOTE(TristanX @ Aug 6 2017, 09:07 PM)
i5 is at the price of Ryzen 5. It is not worth it. Since there is no budget involved, this is the best price/performance around i5 prices for graphics.

Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X2 - 606

C-Zone prices. You might want to get better power supply if it is crap inside your current. Power supply with good and clean output helps your hardware last longer.

Hi all ... appreciate any inputs here for a limited budget of rm1k and maybe can extend to rm1.5k if really needed..

[B][Budget] rm1k preferred or rm1.5k max. Only for mobo, core i5, ram and ssd.

[Purpose] day to day office work with occasional video and light gaming.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] monitor reuse.

[Monitor resolution] standard 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently]

[Personal preferences] no personal preference but this is for someone a bit old so prefer stability and no issues. Because won't be able to spend time to debug in future.

Thanks... what if remove CPU and assume CPU I buy i5...

What is the best combo for rm1k and below ... important is stability first and then bang for buck secondary...

Mobo + RAM + SSD only... Plan to use built in graphics.. no external gfx

Thanks !

Only second hand can get you i5 base setup. CPU itself already at almost RM800 and RAM prices continues to rise. Ryzen 3 1200 definitely can fit.

Ryzen 3 1200 (does not come with built-in graphics) - 519
Asrock B350M Pro4 - 399
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 319
Kingston UV400 120GB - 276

Hi all,

Appreciate and many thanks in advance!

[Budget] RM1.5k (only for casing, motherboard, memory, ssd, power supply). Exclude external peripherals like monitor/mouse/keyboard. Budget exclude processor also (targeting i7 with built in graphics). Leaving out graphics card for now, may plan to purchase separately in future.

[Purpose] Mainly to do video montage, editing, not professional but personal hobby to edit/combine/make personal videos. web browsing, microsoft office and play games occasionally.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] none. plan to build new.

[Monitor resolution] 22 inch monitor, 1080p perhaps.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] FB games, emulator games

[Personal preferences] For lady user, small casing helps. Prefer stability of system also, won't be overclocking etc. as long as everything just works smoothly.

[Location] Penang

From the above, do you think i'll need i7 or i5 processor will do?

if I may ask.... on the SSD/HDD...

so using the Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB is mainly for OS installation and then game as well? Or game will be installed at the 2TB Seagate HDD?
Will it impact the gaming performance if we load all the games at the 2TB HDD or basically the loading time slower only?

thanks.

10k? Can even fit RTX 2080 Ti

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8 core) - 1349
Asus Prime X570-P - 743 ( https://shopee.com.my/search?keyword=asus%2...tions=-1&page=0 )
G.Skill TridentZ Neo 32GB DDR4-3600 kit -  859
Zotac RTX 2080 Ti Triple Fan - 5159
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512GB - 379
Seagate 2TB - 249
Super Flower Leadex III Gold 750W - 519
Fractal Design Define R6 case - 589

RM9846 total

You can play around with these parts to see what you favor. More core is recommended for video editing. Best GPU for near 4k gaming.

Gigabyte X570 Aorus Pro WIFI - 1289 (Highly favorable for 3950X due to better VRM)
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (12 core) - 2149 (Better cooler recommended. Scythe Mugen Rev.B at around RM200 is highly recommended)
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X (16 core) - 3149 (Cooler required. 280mm like Corsair Hydro H115i Platinum is recommended. Around RM719. You could still get away with Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B or Noctua NH-D15)
Zotac RTX 2080 Super Triple Fan - 3149 (Less favorable for 3440 X 1440 )
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB - 689
Corsair MP510 960GB - 849 (Insanely high 1700 Terabytes Written or TBW rating)

Sifus...help needed here...i have 12th generation i7-12700 processor and looking for mobo.

Reuse: gfx, ram, psu, nvme ssd

I just want a stable and long reliability mobo, budget not really an issue but prefer to spend least as possible...

Only thing i may upgrade is the Gfx in future. Monitor will reuse 1440p monitor as well.

should i go for Asus or Asrock? B660 chipset should be sufficient right?

anyone can recommend? so far i see cheapest budget around RM600 for Asrock, and if i want to get good one such as Asus TUF, it will be RM900+

Thank you!

Hi sifus...

If I just want to change from my current Intel rig to AMD rig... What is the mobo and CPU to recommend which is good enough to do gaming? Currently I play Helldiver the most. Also I prefer to reuse all my PC parts including RAM so prefer still can use DDR4.

Thank you!
