Any good monitor for less than RM500? Cheaper is always better. Currently looking at View Sonic VA2419. If you have any cheaper model which best bang for the buck, appreciate if you could help me. Min size 21"

And G-Sync monitors are very expensive.

It is this monitor any better compared to GW2480, or you have any better option in that GW2480 price range? Saw 1 shop near my house sell GW2480 at RM399. Budget top at RM600 if its really worth, best bang for the buck. I'm just casual gaming and most of the time using computer for internet browsing and movies, weekend only play some dota & pubg with friends.

My MSI Z97 Gaming 3 just died today. Bought from 2nd hand market. Im looking for a replacement. Can you guys suggest replacement board? When I saw the price from garage sales, the price more expensive from what I bought it last few years.

My PC
8GB 1600 * 3
GTX1060
I7 4790

No longer having gaming, just casual. Feel like a waste to bought 600++ board even I have a budget for that. What do you guys think? No plan to upgrade yet

Having a dead motherboard is the worst thing... You are caught between

1) buying older mobo new
2) buying used mobo
3) upgrading

Have a look at this listing: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3926683

You could get away with H81 with bios update... or they also have new GIGABYTE H97-HD3 listed at RM349

Exactly. Worst thing, price hike is killing me. Feels like buying old myvi for merc price bangwall.gif

Current setup:
I7 4970
8+4 1833MHz DDR3
1060 3GB

Which one is more wise for RM2K upgrade budget?

Getting new GC or getting a new setup (CPU, Mobo, Ram)? Maybe Ryzen 7 setup or i7 if budget permitted.

Usage:
AAA gaming
Office work like AutoCAD & engineering simulation software
Media center for streaming

I'm on tight budget for upgrade tbh due to PSU shortage burned my mobo/CPU. After some research, thus is my option. The usage mainly for movie before sleep, sometime editing software (PS, Ai), & light gaming (FIFA, CSGO, Sims).

NEW
i5 13500 - RM1200
MSI B760M-A Pro Wifi - RM659

NEW
i5 12400F + MSI Pro B660M-A - RM1310

USED for 6 month with warranty
i5 12400F + MSI Pro B660M-A - RM1000

Do you guys think it's worth to get new gen or should I settle with the used set since I'm no longer need resource demand?

Since only RM 300 higher, then new is better. That used price not compelling. However if really no cash, then that used pun boleh lah, just kawkaw test within seller guarantee and even after that still got distro warranty at least.

Do confirm ur GPU, RAM, SSD/HDD isnt affected tho. You dun wanna connect everything and later short again.
*
Budget wise can stretch up to 13500 + B760M, but prefer to save some money for other. Also, spent more but underutilized later also wasting. I'll take your advice to get a new unit. Thank you

Yup my other parts tested okay. Just bought new PSU after lightning strike as I thought only PSU kaput. But after further check, mobo & CPU also gone.

Do some your homework on Shopee, u can get rebates on
I5 13400f, below 900 after rebates
MSI B760m a Pro wifi, cheapest 659
U have to order them separately from 2 different vendors to enjoy the price

that will be good enough performance
*
Ah. Saw the price of 13400 not so much different with 13500 that's why I'm not considering 13400 at all. Thanks. Will do further search on 13400f

Lightning kaa? Spare some of that budget and pls go get a UPS. Cheap single battery unit pun boleh lah.
*
Ya. Shit happen. Got my UPS already inside my mancave room. Move the PC inside my bedroom. Left the UPS there since other devices still connected to it. 4 years moving here never had any lightning strike, but 2 weeks moving my PC into my bedroom and it got fried. Hahaha

An Apc surge protector can do the job..
