Hey sifus, need some opinion for my rig.
CPU: I5-3570 Ram: 8gb GPU: AMD HD7950 3gb
Should I still stick to the platform by just upgrading the GPU? What's the best GPU to be used with this CPU without bottle-necking?
Playing PUBG is a pain in the ass even with settings set to mid - low (mostly low).

QUOTE(TristanX @ Sep 12 2018, 05:00 PM) HD7950 = R9 280 = GTX 1050 Ti. Recommended GPU for 1080p Ultra is GTX 1060 6GB/RX 580. I think i5-3570 will bottleneck a bit. Upgrade your CPU, mobo and RAM later. Thanks for the tips, am wondering if it is worth to jump straight to GTX1070 as the price gap in the second hand market is not very huge. Currently in SG and the used GTX1060 and GTX1070 is about SGD100. Is the new 2k series less value to per dollar? QUOTE(mbr @ Sep 12 2018, 06:36 PM) What is your current monitor resolution and what is the FPS that you are having now at current settings? And what is your expected outcome from the upgrade? Eg... 1080p, from 50-54 FPS, want to reach 60-75fps? Current resolution is 1080p. Can get over 40-50 with low settings but occasionally dropped badly and spike when a lot of actions going on. Getting stable FPS at around 50-60 is the priority and hopefully at higher graphic setting.

Hi Sifu, can comment on the build below? Solely for gaming and admin work only.
Running a ultrawide monitor on 1440p and 100hz refresh rate.
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - 859 ID-Cooling Frostflow X240 - 219 Gigabyte B450 Auros Pro - 479 Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz - 399 Super Flower Leadex II Gold 750W - 499 Adata SX8200 Pro 512GB - 325 Fractal Design Meshify C - 435 5700XT or RTX 2070 Super - Not decided yet Intel 660p 2TB - already have it
Cost before GPU = RM3,215 (Dotatech Price)
Question:
1) Should I invest into AIO since Ryzen required good thermal for optimum auto boost clock? Do not plan to manual overclock.
2) Getting B450 Auros pro as it is one of the few B450 boards that has 2 m.2 slots. I plan to use SX8200 pro for OS and other software and Intel 660p solely for game. Does it worth the hassle and extra cost to get this board and SX8200 pro? Should I just opt for a cheaper B450 board with single M.2 slot and use a 2.5 SATA SSD for OS? Not to mention B450 auros pro second M.2 slot is X2 only, which might not fully benefit the Intel 660p. Chose 660p mainly because of the price to capacity ratio, use it for gaming should be okay.
I'm using a SaTA SSD is my current old rig, I find it still plenty fast for OS and Microsoft work loads.
3) Any recommendation on a good 750W gold rated and fully modular PSU? Superflower is not cheap and not always have stocks.
4) For the GPU, 5700XT with reference cooler is very tempting at only RM1,850 given its performance matches RTX 2070 and even comparable to 2070 super in some games. But 2070 Super still has the raw power and is costing about RM2.3k-2.5k in Dota Tech.
Should I wait for AIB 5700XT? Will it be much more expensive when it comes AIB cards? I don't mind waiting though if the price is going to be around RM2K for AIB 5700XT.
