1440p monitor is not cheap, the cheapest one will cost you 1.2k, ViewSonic VX3209 and that's an entry level IPS monitor, if you are looking for fast response time and high refresh rate monitor, then you gonna pay more for a TN panel like Dell S2417DG GSYNC. Please take note that there is an pixel inversion issue in some early batches of this monitor, check properly before you make the final purchase.

Intel Core i7 7700 - RM 1424
ASRock FATAL1TY H270 PERFORMANCE - RM 589
G.SKill Aegis 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 550
Gigabyte GTX1070 8GB GDDR5 G1 Gaming - RM 2168
WD Blue 250GB SSD - RM 413
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 219
Superflower Leadex Gold 550W - RM 429
Tecware Alpha - RM 219
Dell S2417DG GSYNC - RM 2029

Total: RM 8040 (ETECH price inclusive of GST)
Planning to get a similar setup to this. I noticed you are using U2417H monitors. Whats your opinion on U2417H vs 144Hz TN panel?

I have been using IPS monitors my entire life and my use case would be gaming (Battlefield 1, Dota 2), and photo editing (Lightroom).

Is GTX1070 going to be overkill for 1080p 60Hz monitor?

Wanna ask is this GPU price hike going to be permanent or is it going to be temporary if I wait it out for another 6 months?

I wanna ask sifu here in LYN to see if this rig with this spec at RM7K expensive or not? I bought it from illegear and a friend of mine told me it is very expensive  shocking.gif  shocking.gif so I'm kinda worried i got Potong  mega_shok.gif

Another thing I would like to clarify is the Colorful graphic card is good or bad? Can't find much information or review about this CN brand, saw certain youtube say that their card is good and they have been around for a while nw

Here's the build I got from Level51, also promo from 12.12 same as you. Sifus here please feel free to review the build for its price. notworthy.gif icon_question.gif

Originally my plan was to get 5600x and DIY. But this build offers 5800x and ASUS TUF 3070 at 6.6k so to me it's a good offer considering Ryzen 5000 series is so difficult to get and ASUS GPU is way above MSRP in Malaysia. Also previously I bought a laptop from Level51 and I think the quality/service from them is quite good, so I went with them for desktop upgrade this time. nod.gif

I would say the parts which are not that good in this build are as follow:

- mATX mobo which is quite small for 3070 GPU (covering all PCIE slots). 2nd M.2 Slot limited to PCIE 3.0 x2 which is quite slow in today's standards
- Unknown M.2 SSD brand
- Not sure if the casing has good enough airflow since the BOLT case looks quite enclosed (Case fans and casing are provided in the build)
- AIO? Personally prefer air cooler for less maintenance
- Was told around 4 weeks waiting time to get the PC

Overall, I think this Level51 build is fair and reasonable price for the parts, especially in the current market. Room for improvements is that Level51 offers a little bit more customisation option like upgrade SSD storage, add RAM and change mobo. icon_rolleyes.gif

What I'd normally suggests:
R7 5800X - 2,049 (honestly, I'd rather get the 5900x)
Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B - 192 (shopee)
Asus TUF Gaming B550M-Plus - 634 (better board compared to the Aorus Elite in terms of VRM temp)
Adata D41 D4 3600 8GBx2 - 329
Transcend MTE220S 500GB - 299 (definitely a better choice)
Colorful RTX 3070 Ultra OC-V - 2,599
Seagate 1TB 3.5" - 179
XPG Core Reactor 750W 80+ Gold - 489 (ask chocobo, he'll explain why the core reactor is a much better PSU)
Lian Li Lancool 215 - 289 (personal case preference, subjective)
Total: Rm7,059

Marked down version in order to match Level51's price
R7 5800X - 2,049
ID-Cooling FrostFlow X 240mm AIO - 198
Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite - 549
Klevv D4 3200 8GBx2 - 278
Transcend MTE110 500GB - 239 (definitely a no go for me, never get a dramless ssd)
Colorful RTX 3070 Ultra OC-V - 2,599
Seagate 1TB 3.5" - 179
Superflower Leadex iii 750w - 430
Tecware Forge M non aRGB - 139
Total: Rm6,660

Overall, you save around Rm70 for hardware, but on the bright side they gave Asus RTX 3070 which is a score.
*
Thank you for the very clear breakdown and I agree with your views. I think I will get an additional Transcend MTE220S 1TB as the main drive.

The 500GB given by Level51 will be used as 2nd drive in the second M.2 slot.

Yea, the ASUS TUF 3070 is the one that attracted me. I dont want to risk ordering the model from Taiwan with no warranty as some shops in Shopee is selling for 2.4k which is much cheaper than Malaysia shops.

hmm, if I'm not mistaken your RTX 3070 should be a dual fan design, rather than the TUF Gaming triple slot, triple fan design.

It's the TUF triple fan design when I was placing the order. I took a screenshot too.

Why would u buy from lvl 51. The parts used are not the best. Nor is price perf ratio
*
Ya the mobo and the SSD are the weakness of this build, not using the best parts available. But able to get 5800x and ASUS TUF 3070 at 6.6k in Malaysia I think it's a good deal.

Hi guys, is it ok to put mATX board in ATX case?

Reason is to cut cost and don't have any use for the pcie slots other than GPU itself.

Currently going for either of these 2 boards.

ASUS TUF B550M Plus Wifi
ASUS TUF B550 Plus

These 2 boards are similarly priced and going for the mATX board has included ax wifi, so it helps save some cost there.

Is this spec / pricing good?

Intel Core I7 10700F RM1289
MSI MAG B460M Mortar Socket 1200 Mainboard RM509 (Gigabyte ~RM100 lesser) - this mobo only has 1 M2 NVME slot it seems, will this be sufficient?
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 2X8GB 16GB DDR4 2666MHZ RM330 (Value RAM ~RM50 lesser)
XPG 1TB SX8200 Pro NVME M.2 SSD RM589
Zotac RTX 3080 AMP Holo 10GB GDDR6X RM4388
Seagate 3.5' Barracuda 1TB RM185
Corsair 850W RM850 80+ Gold Full Modular PSU RM611
Noctua NH-U12S CH.BK CPU Cooller RM399
Fractal Design Define Mini C mATX RM439

Total RM8739

Will be around RM7.3k if taking 3070 card. Seems my budget of RM5-6k is barely enough.

wow didn't know that Zotac Amp Holo's price has increased until almost 4.4k sweat.gif
