Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Just want to ask SEAGATE BARRACUDA DESKTOP - 287 is the 1TB HDD?

And also, how does the i5 processor you suggest compare to the Ryzen 5 1600?

Finally, if i want to keep the budget to around RM4k, what should I remove?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I googled and E Tech is in Kepong? Is there any other alternative in PJ (e.g Digital Mall?)

As for the monitor, is there an alternative to a curved one? Will be used by other family members and not sure they will like a curved monitor.

Thanks again!

Yes they are located in Kepong. If Digital Mall you could check out Czone. Just show them the suggested parts smile.gif

Hmmm, any other preference in monitor? Do you need 144hz monitor or you prefer IPS + 60hz?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Just want your thoughts on this:

Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor -
MSI - Z370 GAMING PLUS ATX LGA1151 Motherboard -
GALAX GTX1060 3GB | 6GB OC -
CORSAIR D4 PC2400 VENGEANCE LPX 8GB -
Segotep GP 500W -
Western Digital - Blue 250GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive -
SEAGATE BARRACUDA DESKTOP -
TECWARE EGDE TG ATX BLACK -

Prices should be similar to the one you recommended but are there any significant performance difference?

As for monitors, I am assuming the 144hz is a TN model? Which one would you recommend for the budget ? I read that TN monitors are better for gaming due to faster response speed.

Hey, what if the vendor doesn't have that ram? They only have Kingston Ram PC2666. What do you think?

Hi all,

I am looking to replace my faulty CPU for my current rig as below:

Processpr: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core
Motherboard: Gigabyte - GA-B360M Aorus Gaming 3
Graphic Card: Strix-GTX1060 6GB
RAM: Kingston KVR26N19S8/8 8GB
PSU: SF-500P14MS SuperFlower Leadex Silver Eco 500W(Needs replacing)
SSD: Samsung 860EVO 250GB
HDD: WD 2TB

What would be a good replacement PSU for my specs? This rig is primarily used for gaming (FPS and MMO), web surfing and work.

Preferably with a budget that wouldn't kill my wallet (around RM350-RM400 or max RM450 ?)

I didn't want to open another thread so I thought of asking for suggestions here.

Thanks in advance notworthy.gif

Could go for SUPER FLOWER 650W LEADEX II 80+ GOLD FULL MODULAR @ RM389.00.

What happened to your PSU anyway?

It’s causing my system to restart while gaming. Had to substitute part by part to confirm this.

It happens without a warning even after gaming for 5-10mins. Temperatures of cpu and gpu seem okay too..
