Guys, would like to have a helping hand here. Recently I've checked out Idealtech and wanna get them to build me up a gaming rig, but I'm not too confident with the choices made, my choices are as follows :-
Processor : Coffeelake/8th gen if can, if my budget is too low, then 7th gen will do
GPU: GTX1070ti

As for others such as mobo, PSU, sound cards etc, that's where I got stuck because I know that if i buy the wrong motherboard or PSU, it would mess up my performance. I can only sure to which certain extent I want my graphic cards & CPU to be at, but I'm not sure about the others(especially power supply & mobo).

Budget: RM5k - RM6.5k(max). Exclude mouse & keyboard/headset.

Edit:
Main purpose :- Mostly for triple A title gaming, and to make a transition from my crappy lappy for a long time now tongue.gif

Thanks

With that budget, you could even fit in a GTX 1080 if you like. For PSU, look out for reliable brands like Corsair, EVGA, Super Flower, FSP for their 80+ gold rated ones. As for mobo, do you intend to OC? Else, B/H series mobo will be good enough. The performance difference between each mobo will not be significant. Just choose based on the features you need and the looks of it.

You may consider these:
CPU: INTEL CORE I7-8700 RM 1,213.00
COOLER: SCYTHE KOTETSU MARK II RM 159.00 (Optional)
MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B360-H RM 529.00
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 2666MHZ RM 739.00
GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1070 TI WINDFORCE 8GB GDDR5 RM 1,999.00
SSD: SAMSUNG 250GB 860 EVO 2.5' RM 349.00
HDD: WESTERN DIGITAL 3.5' 1TB 7200RPM RM 169.00
PSU: SUPER FLOWER 650W LEADEX II 80+ GOLD RM 415.00
CASE: NZXT H500 TG RM 339.00

TOTAL: RM5,911 (E Tech prices)

Hey, thanks for the suggestions, your second offer looks tempting biggrin.gif I compared it parts by parts with Idealtech(with little modifications) and found out that Idealtech costs roughly the same too.

But, i wanna know, when it comes to the above quotations of parts,
(1)Do i need to add in sound card? Sorry for asking stupid questions, because i don't need a masterpiece audio, all i need is an audio jack to enable me to listen via headphone and it'll all be good for me.

(2)Forgot to mention, as for monitors, what kinda monitors would you recommend me to get? Don't need to be so high-end, just decent ones with moderate price would do.

(3)Is the motherboard & PSU recommended compatible enough in case i wanna transition to 1080 or even 1080ti few years down the road once i got the new graphic cards?

thanks

1) No need to purchase a sound card. Just use the mobo's one and it's good enough.

2) What about this: ACER 23.8' R241Ybid FULL-HD RM 529.00.

3) Yes both of them are compatible and sufficient for up to 1080Ti. smile.gif

is there anything cheaper for the monitor? sweat.gif

Hi there, i wanna know:

1)What is the major differences between both of these specs above, even though the second specs are cheaper/same as the first?

2)If let's say i wanna upgrade my GPU to GTX1080 or 1080ti, then would the motherboard stated in either of the configuration be enough?

3)You said that the prices are based on E Tech PC in Kepong right, i am not from KL. So i should send them thee quotation of specs face to face, or directly email/call the customer services, and only go there walk-in to retrieve my pc? unsure.gif because i most probably will only be able to come down to Kepong by weekends

1) No major difference except the monitor suggested. The second specs are actually taken from the first one since they both had the same budget.

2) The mobo stated will be enough for a GTX 1080/1080Ti but do check out the specific model on their website to see if the features are sufficient for your usage (no. of usb ports, pcie slots, ram slots and such). You could also consider H370 for more features.

3) Yes the prices are based on E Tech PC in Kepong. If you want to have your PC ready when you visit them during the weekend, then you can email/call them or even FB message them and have it assembled prior to your visit (provided if that's the specs you're after). You could also FB message them and ask them for their opinion on the suggested specs. Sometimes they might have certain parts on promotion that may offer a better value/performance. smile.gif

By H370 mobo, you meant msi one, or the asus rog strix one? unsure.gif

wow, thank god. Btw for assembling, roughly how many days will they need, or it's case by case?

Any one that you prefer honestly. I personally like Asus for their looks and their bios. Some like Aorus for their insane RGBs. Do keep in mind that there's a diff between MATX vs ATX. So gotta make sure the mobo you choose can fit in the case you choose.

It really depends on how busy they are. But the last time they took 3 days to get my friend's PC assembled.
*
Gotta admit, Asus Rog Strix & Aorus mobo looks pretty sick, but right now i'm running outta time, no thanks to the 10% SST that's gonna be implemented soon. actually planned to get my new rig by end of this year, but if i'm able to rush it in time, i might wanna get one before the 1st of Sept sad.gif

Guys wta is the h310 motherboard good?
Bcs when I told this well know shop that I want a budget gaming computer, in the build he gave a h310 motherboard.
Then when i just ask is it better to put a b360 motherboard inside he like became a bit butthurt, and he asking me things I don't know like how is b360 motherboard better then h310 and blah blah blah.
*
well, imo, it goes like this:

Z-lineup -> H370 -> B360 -> H310

*The Z-lineup motherboards are the most versatile(being containing more ports, multiple PCI-E's, able to OC) as well as being the most priciest due to it being most future-proof. And if you take the number series into account, it would be something like Z390 is more superior than Z370.

*Then only followed by H370, B360 which considered suitable for those mid-gaming capabilities, and finally H310 is for those who only wants basic budget gaming capabilities, and of course, H310 is the most cheaper version out there.

So I will ask you the same thing I ask the guy. Should I add more money. I think it is rm100 ringgit more to get a b360 motherboard?
Is there a lot in difference between the h310 and b360???
Bcs the shop guy turn pretty arrogant. He seem sure the h310 is just as good. Some more from the reviews their customer service suppose to be really good.
*
Well that depends on your use of PC. Are you a hardcore gamer that wants to squeeze every performance out of its PC? If yes, then I'd highly recommend you to get the B360, because it's also future-proof in the sense that if you wanna exchange your processor /gpu, you can do it without any worries (give & take 2-3years later). I know for a fact that if I'm powering on 1060 right now, I'd wanna go for 1070ti at the very least in next 3 years or so if I wanna make some upgrades on my graphic card.

Besides, if you really ask me, I'd go for B360 over H310 if I have the budget to do so. You basically would not lose anything at all. H310 is considered basic/rudimentary components in powering the whole thing, so yeah, cash in a few more ringgit for B360 would be my approach.

As for the shop, would you mind let me know the shop's name(or pm me if you don't mind)? biggrin.gif

hey, just wanna asked, i've already purchased a rig from E Tech without Cooler , my question is, would it bring some harm to my PC(what i'm worry of is that the cpu & its neighboring components would get heated for longer in the long run)?? unsure.gif

i know it's stupid, but since i've already made my purchase, i think i will only get a better cooler by next year. hmm.gif

You mean u didnt purchase after market cooler and use stock cooler only? Or no cooler at all?
*
i'm talking about after market cooler.

but then again, some folks complained that stock cooler sucks, so yeah... sweat.gif

i admit, i was too rash in buying a new rig no particularly thanks to sst, which is why i based off my rig with a recommendation here not too long ago by Kristal.S. It suits my preferences(in terms of GPU/CPU selections) and it's within my range of budget, i immediately gave them (E Tech) the specs and forgotten the cooler after that doh.gif

Could consider these:

https://mall.shopee.com.my/TP-LINK-20TL-WN8...8383.1192687793

https://mall.shopee.com.my/TP-LINK-20300Mbp...80984.224397300

2nd option requires you to open up your pc and insert into the pcie slot. Whereas first option is just plug and play smile.gif
*
For now i think i will settle with first option sweat.gif

300Mbps, alright, looks like a good deal, thanks. initially wanna buy those with antennas, but i think for now i will go with your suggestion. nod.gif

Guys, just curious, the GPU's fan would only be turned on if we're running on intensive programs that needs its power right? so, if we're just running normal apps that don't demand much gpu resources, then it would stay idle?

thanks in advance

btw mbr compuway sell ACER ED242QR at RM750 lol. might as well buy on lazada + shipping fee RM710..

your rig's largely share some similarities with mine except for the brand as well as your mobo

i also planning on upgrading my RAM from 8GB to 16GB, does it have to be the same speed as in:-
If i already have 8GB DDR4 2666mhz, then i have to use the same DDR as well as 2666mhz, cannot pick the ones with DDR3/3000mhz? unsure.gif
