Ryzen 1500x - 879
Asus A320M-K - 299
8gb ddr4 ram - around 300
Msi gtx 1070 armor - 2179
Kingston 240gb ssd - 399
Viewsonic VX2771 ips or Dell 2715H ips - 799 or 1099
FSP raider series - 319
Any cheap case - 230

Total
RM5404 with Viewsonic or
RM5704 with Dell

As usual, i don't really factor with windows since I'm assuming you can get it cheap later. The hdd and ram can always be added later too.

It's a shame, but I'm sure the cpu is good enough even without overclocking

Don't forget to get a wifi usb if you need it.

Not sure about the monitor resolution, but 1080p is good enough, or simply put, a necessary sacrifice.

You don't wanna go lower than 1070 at that budget.Besides, 1440p is overrated anyway.

If i were you i crank out the quality settings in nvidia driver instead since the gpu is stupid powerful

Thanks bro for your reply.

It seems that the the budget kinda low if i were to include such monitor.

What setup can i go for if i increase the budget to around 5k without monitor? I dont plan for upgrade anytime soon but I would prefer decent processor and gpu for now.

Hi there,

I am thinking to take this monitor with free sync: Crossover 34U100 AntiGlare AMD 3440x1440 34 Curved Gaming Monitor.

If i were to get this, then i will need an AMD GPU to make full use of the Free Sync. But how come most of the recommendation here are all Nvdia GPU?

Can someone give me a recommendation of gaming rig at around 4.5k MYR budget? Is this budget enough to have a build with GPU that runs the latest games at this resolution? And If I don't go for AMD GPU, which nvdia card should I go for.

Thanks.

Around RM530.
Price issue. You are getting less performance for the price if you go AMD cards. CPU side is different story. AMD has better price/performance. Also, going 3440x1440 is going to need at least GTX 1080. RX Vega 56 and GTX 1070 may not be enough.

GTX 1060 6GB (RM1.25k)  > RX 570 (RM1.3k)
GTX 1070 (RM1.8k) price too close to RX 580 8GB (RM1.7k)
GTX 1080 (RM2.5K) is the price of RX Vega 56 (RM2.5k)

For the rig.....

AMD Ryzen 5 1600 - 1039
Asus Prime B350M-A - 445
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1 - 368
Power Color RX 580 8GB DDR5 Red Devil - 1699
Kingston UV400 120GB - 255
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 200
Super Flower Leadex Silver 550W - 359
Tecware Edge case - 199

RM4564 total (C-Zone prices)

Thanks Tristan. Which brand of Nvdia 1070 card do you recommend? Zotac?

And as for RAM and PSU, any good alternatives other than the above? Just in case out of stock as i am now in Dubai.

Thanks

Yup, Zotac is good as well.

You can try looking for G.Skill and Corsair. As for the PSU, Seasonic Focus, Corsair and EVGA should be good.

Hi, I don't know how to overclock GPU so better get something with factory OC right?

I see there are so many options for 1070 Zotac, some with AMP Edition and some with AMP Core edition. Which one is the best bang for buck?

As for PSU he offered me Corsair VS 650W. Does this PSU have Bronze/Silver/Gold category? He didn't mention it. As since this is 100W higher, will it cost higher electricity?

The most expensive Zotac should have highest factory overclock and the best heatsink.

Corsair VS is a low grade PSU. Look for at least CX series. No, higher wattage does not increase electric bills. It consumes only what the system needs. It gets a bit less efficient if the system load percentage is too low though.

Sorry to bother again, it's strange that two of the shops don't seem to have the above brands. One of them offer me this instead.

THERMAL TAKE LITEPOWER POWER SUPPLY (LPT-0650P) - 650Watt

Is this a good alternative or should i focus on the brand you mentioned only?

Hi Tristan,

I have decided to go for the below

AMD Ryzen 1700
Asus Prime B350M-A
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2400 X1
Zotac 1080 AMP! Extreme 8GB
Kingston UV400 120GB
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB

3 questions here

1) Corsair is more common here in Dubai, should i still stick to 550W CX-M or do i need higher voltage?
2) I realize that AMP! Extreme edition has only around 100Mhz more than the Mini version. Is it worth to pay 400MYR more for this if i dont OC?
3) I remember i read somewhere that we can still OC the Ryzen for additional 20% with stock cooler, that means I can OC it until 3.6 and it's still safe?

AMD Ryzen 7 1700
Asus Prime B350M-A
BALLISTIX CRUCIAL DDR4 8GB 2400
Zotac 1080 8GB DDR5 AMP! Extreme
CORSAIR POWER SUPPLY CX 750M
CORSAIR CASE SPEC 01

Hi Tristan, one last question, is this Ballistix RAM ok? Kingston is slightly more expensive. Corsair CX 750M for this spec is also fine right? he doesn't have stock for lower Watt.

Hi Sifus,

Seeking recommendation for gaming rig. I have 2SSD and 1HDD with 1440p monitor and other gaming peripherals. Usage mainly is Dota however I don't mind spending more just in case I wanna play any AAA games later. Fan coolilng is fine.

Budget around 6k MYR.

Thanks!
