Just a kind reminder for those who have purchased CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 8GB DDR4 3000MHZ, the ram default JEDEC speed is 2133Mhz...Don't forget to turn on the XMP profile to run it at 3000Mhz ya...

my opinion la in such awkward timing to build a new rig. u build ryzen 3600, if u willing to pay the extra rm100 price hike just go ahead. u build intel 10400f, just settle with b460 mobo. if u want to jump ship anytime in near future, just get a pair of ram that have JEDEC 2666 and XMP 3600 profile and hop on intel 10400f + b460 platform…in case 11th gen intel not compatible with b460 socket, means less upgrade path available in future, just sell your 10400f + b460 and jump ship to b550 + zen3 …that time u still can use back the ram on b550 also keep this list in mind if u opt for z490 route https://itigic.com/all-compatible-models-of...-with-pcie-4-0/ This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Oct 27 2020, 07:53 PM woonyaw93 liked this post

QUOTE(imahappyklown @ Nov 3 2020, 09:27 PM) Thanks for the feedback guys, appreciate the advice. It sure did gave me some perspective on what I want from my build. i see nowadays Sapphire RX570 Pulse (and Nitro+ too) comes with this kind of generic box instead the original old box…not sure if it's factory refurbished unit or not. Most sellers just sell it as "Brand New". Anyone here can explain this? After studying up abit on the parts, I've decided on cutting some corners and settled on the following; Ryzen 5 2600 - Same Asrock B450M PRO4 - Same RX 570 (Previously planned on Zotac GTX 1660S Twin Fan) - After going through my steam library (which is just full of rougelike's and Dota2), opted for the cheaper GPU which is more than sufficient with the games I dabble in. Even considered a Ryzen 5 3400G at one point, since it benchmarked pretty well for the games I currently play. Klevv Bolt X 3200Mhz 8GBx2 (Previously planned on Corsair Vengeance LPX) - Despite not having much reviews online on it, figure can't really go wrong with RAMs, so opted for the cheapest option I could find. PNY CS3030 SSD 250G - Same. Was considering to downgrade to a SATA SSD but after reading more about NVMe, needed to experience for myself the speed. Seagate Barracuda HDD 1TB - Same NZXT C650 - Same. I've seen alot of budget builds go for cheaper PSU's but saw alot of advice to never cheap out on a unit. 650watt may be overkill for the parts I have now, at the very least it would not be a hassle if I ever decide to upgrade from the RX 570. Cougar MX350 (Previously planned on Phanteks P400A) - Half the price of the Phanteks and have some decent reviews. Honestly just wanted to cut some more cost. Total rounded up to RM2634, which is about 800 cheaper than what I planned initially. Can't wait to start building. Cheers. ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(imahappyklown @ Nov 4 2020, 10:58 AM) Yeah, that was what I'm scared of. Cause in the ecommerce sites, when the condition of the cards are questioned, the seller would say its new. i think they can.Can they get away with calling a refurbished unit new though? 1. factory refurbished 2. 2 years warranty cheap price…fair enough |

QUOTE(Halls1234 @ Nov 11 2020, 01:23 AM) Thanks for the recommendation on mobo. Will take note. what u looking for is Ryzen 7 4750G but that's only for oem5400g maybe it’s a newer 3400g? Not sure just saying wait for new amd ryzen with integrated gpu ? I don’t think I will spend high end cards. Mid range? Something between 1k to 2k below gpus This post has been edited by BOTAK_WAI: Nov 11 2020, 06:38 PM |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Nov 13 2020, 05:49 PM) According to Gamers Nexus you can actually do 1080p high with a RX570, so probably something in the line of a 10100F + H410 + RX570 should do the trick just fine this could be the best budget new rig in the market liao.![]() i3 10100F - RM359 Gigabyte H410M-H - RM299 Kingston 2x8GB DDR4 2666 - RM278 PowerColor RX570 - RM513 Transcend MTE220S 256GB - RM228 Cooler Master MWE Bronze v2 500W - RM195 Tecware Alpha M - RM158 Total: RM2030 Optional (but recommended upgrades): Transcend MTE220S 512GB (+RM100, for additional storage) Note though, the board only supports M.2 PCIe x2 rather than x4 (which means the drive will operate at half the speed), but this should not affect real world performance at all btw if one need higher airflow (more free fans) and versatility of the atx casing can look for Tecware Nexus Air (got steel and tempered glass panel options) ram wise can buy hyperx 3200mhz too, the price difference not much…should be around rm150 per stick…still can run 2666mhz jedec. though u still run in 2666mhz…but if later upgrade or resell also easier ssd wise…if one can accept used stuff…can look for "refurbished" intel 760p m.2 nvme 1tb for rm399. technically some so called "refurbished" ssd is taken out new from prebuilt laptop. |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Nov 13 2020, 05:34 PM) Actually no, as a lot of them are basically outdated double forward + group regulated design in your opinion…which 1 better? The MWE v2 is arguably the better ones out there, with a modern LLC + DC-DC design. Sure it's not flawless (the MWE v2 is known to suffer from high power ripple at idle, but it's still within the ATX spec nonetheless) Of course, there's also the Thermaltake GX1/Leadex Silver ECO as well (tier C, but one of the better ones out there 1. Super Flower Silver Eco 600w 2. Gigabyte P650B 650w 3. CM MWE V2 750w they should be around +-rm50 difference |

QUOTE(pcbuilder420 @ Nov 15 2020, 11:44 PM) Hi, wanted to ask if Tecware Forge S case (ATX sized, not the microATX Forge M) can fit the Galax RTX 3070 SG? don't forget to calculate the intake fan thicknessAccording to both their websites, the GPU is 317mm (up to 329mm with anti-sag bracket), and the maximum GPU clearance for the Forge S case is 330mm, so it *should* be able to fit. However, I've seen one post online with a Forge M + Asus ROG Strix 3080 build (319mm long), and it barely fits the Forge M chassis, which has 10mm extra GPU clearance than the Forge S. Should I continue with the Tecware+Galax combo, or drop the Tecware case and go for something more upmarket (i.e Phanteks or Lianli) to avoid potential issues? Any sifu please advise. (sorry for long post btw) |
