You definitely misunderstood me. Instead of buying NUC, go for RM1k rig. They are much more powerful.

AMD Athlon 200GE - 229
Asus PRIME A320M-K - 239
Kingston 4GB DDR4-2666 X 1 - 139
WD Blue or Seagagte 1TB - 179
Coolermaster Elite 350W - 129
Tecware Core mATX case - 89 (From C-Zone)

RM1000 total (Viewnet prices)

This setup definitely has better chance of playing higher resolution video than Celeron.

GPU: GTX 1080 https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4678259
8GB DDR4-2666 (RM 300)
subtotal: 3050-3100

Then add
Samsung EVO 850/860 250Gb SATA III SSD (RM 240-260, find online store)
1TB HDD (RM 180)
Superflower leadex Gold 550W https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4647402
Casing (RM 120-180)
subtotal: RM 840-920

Unbelievably, it's doable for RM500. laugh.gif
Get a Mini PC, such as from here https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=...rchText=mini+pc

But if budget RM500, can only get X5 Z8350 with 2GB RAM, like this
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/WooYi-winte...2654398163.html
Enough to play Youtube and 1080p H264 video. But will not be powerful enough for 2160p H265, I have N3450 cpu with 4GB RAM, it can playback 1080p H265 smoothly, but not 2160p H265. But then again if your TV is 4K, it should be able to play 2160p H265 video from the USB. So no need PC to play 4K video file.

Hah! That's even a better list than when I tried to choose my own components. Thanks man. I guess that's the best you can spec'ed up with my budget.

Hmm, let's say if take off the casing from your list(trying to persuade my brother to upgrade his current casing and give it to me tongue.gif) and I'm willing to spare another 200-300ish on top of the total price of the list above, which components would you recommend to upgrade?

Welp.. then yeah the above specs are probably the best you can opt for. Try to get at least 8gb though as thats the minimum requirement for games these days. 4GB isn't sufficient.

Must be exactly same spec to have dual channel. Buying different spec could also cause compatibility issues.

Put only games with shit ton of files on SSD(10000+ files). Put games with little files, installers, audio and video on HDD.

If you can afford SSD, why not? Crucial MX500 1TB is dirt cheap at Viewnet. Avoid those 5400-5900rpm hard disks. 2-3TB = Seagate Barracuda or Pro, 4TB = WD Black or Seagate Barracuda Pro.
