RM1550 and still got warranty however the owner said it was used for mining at 80% target power and temperature below 65C.
Go?

Cheap but warranty left not specified is questionable.

You can go with Corsair VS450. Its a 450W power supply unit.

Have resit? Ask him full details first.

RM1550 is a large amount of money.

MOBO : Asus H81 M-K
RAM : 8Gb DDR3
GPU : Galax GTX1060 6GB ( 2 more years warranty)
PSU : Ac-Bel i power g550
Case : Thermaltake versa h17
HDD : wd blue 500gb

Hi...good or not for light gaming? How much is reasonable price for used set? TQ
*
Do you need that GTX 1060 6GB for a light gaming? Jk.

RM1800 ~ RM2000 max. I will not pay more than that.

Cheap untrusted PSU brands.
Small 500GB HDD storage.

The i5 4440 will still be relevant for years to come.

How long did he use for mining? If it isn't that long like <6 months, can totally consider it. Anything above a year I'd personally stay away as mining cards usage are usually like 2-3x more compared to a gaming card. Ask him to provide some really close up pictures of the GPU so you can judge yourself the condition of it.
*
he bought the card January this year.

Need advise here. Just got a Asus DUAL OC GTX 1070 8GB and is looking to build a Ryzen build. This is what I currently plan to build:

Ryzen 2600 - 687MYR
Asus B450M-K - 378 MYR
Asus DUAL OC GTX 1070 8GB
Samsung EVO 850 120GB - 219 MYR
Corsair CX650M - 300MYR
Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2666MHz - 371 MYR
Seagate Barracuda 1TB - 160 MYR
Case - 100MYR

Anything that you would suggest to change? I am uncertain about the mobo and the ram, but not sure what to go with. Please advise.

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

The mobo is a decent one and for the ram, check the compatibility on your chosen mobo's website. Ryzen has issues with ram compatibility.

You can consider this PSU too: https://www.lelong.com.my/super-flower-500w...9-08-Sale-P.htm

Thanks for your input! Just found out ASROCK B450M Pro4, and is tempted by it. Packed with features while cheaper than Asus and Gigabyte mATX. Would you recommend it?

There are lots of "deals" to be had in the garage section. However, no one can tell you if the deals are financially sound, considering risks of used hardware.

Always do this:
1. Is the part suitable for your needs? Specs and compatibility
2. Is the part affordable?
3. Is the deal a smooth one or nasty nego?

#1: Can discuss here on what you need.

#2: Decide if affordable... I do have my own matrix to help me guess whether the items are worth to get, but this is based on my own value perception, without solid references or proof.

Attached Image

In that sense, I would check for authencity (proof of purchase, online warranty check, etc) and card condition (card use in gaming or mining, settings used, duration of use, overclock or not, pics of part itself as well as pic of the part IN THE RIG if possible).

Then I would use the matrix to make a guess on probable value, then compare with seller's asking price.

Eg... for ASUS Cerberus 1070Ti, you check local stores for new prices maybe RM 2300-2500, then used for gaming only, and used about 8-9 months, then around 85% of the value, I would value it around RM1950-2100. But I would also check for other models, eg Galax 1070Ti can be had for around RM 1999 new as well... So consider against that...

Then if looks like it will serve the purpose for the next 3 years+, then check wallet if can manage the burn... if YES, then proceed to nego with seller

#3: In seller nego, check if they are friendly, and likely to assist in warranty claim should the shop be somewhere far from you. Ask about packaging and courier choices, and if all seems well, it would be easier to manage from there on.

For new items, we would suggest parts that are compatible and reasonably reliable. But we certainly cant assume the same for used part. So decide wisely! It is still your money smile.gif

Hey sifus, need some opinion for my rig.

CPU: I5-3570
Ram: 8gb
GPU: AMD HD7950 3gb

Should I still stick to the platform by just upgrading the GPU? What's the best GPU to be used with this CPU without bottle-necking?

Playing PUBG is a pain in the ass even with settings set to mid - low (mostly low).

HD7950 = R9 280 = GTX 1050 Ti. Recommended GPU for 1080p Ultra is GTX 1060 6GB/RX 580. I think i5-3570 will bottleneck a bit. Upgrade your CPU, mobo and RAM later.

What is your current monitor resolution and what is the FPS that you are having now at current settings? And what is your expected outcome from the upgrade?

Eg... 1080p, from 50-54 FPS, want to reach 60-75fps?

Thanks for the tips, am wondering if it is worth to jump straight to GTX1070 as the price gap in the second hand market is not very huge. Currently in SG and the used GTX1060 and GTX1070 is about SGD100. Is the new 2k series less value to per dollar?

Current resolution is 1080p. Can get over 40-50 with low settings but occasionally dropped badly and spike when a lot of actions going on. Getting stable FPS at around 50-60 is the priority and hopefully at higher graphic setting.

Yeah, GTX 1070 could last you longer if you can afford it.

Hi all,

I am looking for a budget FullHD IPS monitor for my desktop. I have narrowed all my options to two:

a) LG 22MK430H-B (RM349)
b) Viewsonic VA2419-sh (RM419)

Anyone has experience with either of these two monitors? Viewsonic is RM70 more expensive while being bigger screen but I am not too concerned about screen size.

Having compared the tech specs of these two, they are very similar, therefore I am more concerned about the out-of-factory screen calibration, reliability and warranty. At the moment I perceive LG to have better quality but I am not too sure, so I am here to get advises from the experienced ones.

Which option would you go for?

Thanks in advance! biggrin.gif
