Thanks for the reply. Seems that I need to stretch the budget even more especially when 2nd gen ryzen is already on sale. For that I might end up spending more than 4K for an upgrade.

Currently I am using an old FM2+ rig with Asus A88X pro motherboard and AMD 7700K. The only missing is a graphic card which I am still not sure which one to consider should I decide
to scrap the idea of upgrading.

All of them simillar spec. All got low grade PSU and SSD too. Just pick the cheapest. Unless you want some quality. Switch the PSU to Super Flower Leadex 550W+ or Corsair TX 650M.

For the SSD, never a fan of "just faster than hard disk" SSDs. Look for Crucial MX500 for low budget, Samsung 860 or 970 Pro if u wanna go nuts.

For psu, how bout Corsair VS550? or Silverstone strider 600?

SSD wise, does SanDisk plus / WD Green do any better than my current spec?

How bout other specs? Like the Mobo, ram, gpu that I chose.

Corsair VS 550 and Silverstone Strider Essential (if that is the model) 600 is also low cost.

Sandisk SSD Plus and WD Green is also just faster than hard disk. Nothing special.

You could go Asus B360M-K if you wanna cut cost further. You'll lose 2 RAM slots and some connectivity. Check Asus' website to see what you lose.

Getting something like Z2 means you need to buy NUC or import Asrock Deskmini.
