On a side note despite it being pcie3 I'm just wondering if I can still tap the benefit of pci nvme SSD? Any model recommendations for best price:performance ratio? Looking for at least 500gb or preferably 1tb.

Mostly for games / video recording / maybe Windows OS (OS already  on legacy sata sad so still thinking coz abit lazy to reinstall everything)

To upgrade to zen 2 and use a b450 board, doesnt he need to flash bios using another zen or zen + chip?

Do stores here help you flash bios if you want to pair a zen 2 chip with last year's mobo models

any workaround or which mobo to change to if the bios is not updated ?

This new Ryzen  3000  seems have so many  compatibility issues . 

i am reading  more people  getting system freeze  due to compatibility issues between   cpu ,  ram , mother board and even   Win 10  and PSU  ! 
IS it worth the  stress and headaches.

you spend good money  and  face problems  like random system freeze.
I think  they will need  more time to  fix all this  issues as more complaints come up.

i see you have the knowledge to select   the  ones that work  .
if all  major feature s work  as advertise  that i will say  fine .  

What i see in this forum  is  user s  always  recommend   say a mobo   and they  never voice out  if  something is not right/working comparing to spec/advertise  or there is an issue .

just an example  recently  .  i did a quick look at Asrock  mobo   forums   .    saw many users  complaining about  rgb  app   not working and not fix as of today too.
my conclusion  is  Asrock  mobo  is OK   but  stay  away  if you miss RGB .  cos RGB will not work  on some  chipsets  and  when it will  be fix  no news .

That's because the normal version has problems supporting Ryzen 3000 CPUs due to 16MB (128Mb) BIOS chip - IINM MSI even have to trim the BIOS quite significantly in order to fit inside the chip

They did manage to support Ryzen 3000 CPUs, but they have to remove (or trim down) some features
