Ryzen 7 3700X with AMD Wraith Prism Cooler = RM1,389
MSI X470 GAMING PRO CARBON = RM639
Kingston HyperX Predator RGB HX432C16PB3AK2/32 = RM795
TOTAL = RM2,823

Hi all, decided to go ahead with above build thanks to the recommendation (specifically TristanX.
On a side note despite it being pcie3 I'm just wondering if I can still tap the benefit of pci nvme SSD? Any model recommendations for best price:performance ratio? Looking for at least 500gb or preferably 1tb.

Mostly for games / video recording / maybe Windows OS (OS already  on legacy sata sad so still thinking coz abit lazy to reinstall everything)

Scrolling through the post I shortlist this model, but not sure if it's best bang for buck?

ADATA SX8200 Pro 1TB @ RM619

Go for WD Black SN750? smile.gif

For RAM, it would be ideal to get 3600MHz. AMD official guide on the FCLK is at 1800MHz, in which to be synchronized with RAM (1800MHz x 2 data rate). smile.gif

Let me check out the WD model.

What do you think about corsair force mp510 960gb@ rm595?

For ram, I think my mobo can only support up to 3200mhz on OC mode
*
Yeah that is a good pick, except that it is a little bit old.

For RAM speed, you can go more than that with a Ryzen 3000.

Upgrade to Ryzen 5 3600 + B450 board + 16GB RAM + SSD + GPU will be good enough.

To upgrade to zen 2 and use a b450 board, doesnt he need to flash bios using another zen or zen + chip?

Do stores here help you flash bios if you want to pair a zen 2 chip with last year's mobo models
*
Depending on the batch of stock. Store does help to update the BIOS, but some mobo also support flashing without CPU.

Is Tecware Nexus C a good casing? How is its airflow vs the 2 casing suggested?

The fully covered front will block the intake air. puke.gif There is no bottom fan bracket for intake as well.

FSP was a pure OEM PSU manufacturer. Since ~10 years ago they started their own brand in consumer market. They are home for many decent PSUs.

This new Ryzen  3000  seems have so many  compatibility issues .

i am reading  more people  getting system freeze  due to compatibility issues between   cpu ,  ram , mother board and even   Win 10  and PSU  !
IS it worth the  stress and headaches.

you spend good money  and  face problems  like random system freeze.
I think  they will need  more time to  fix all this  issues as more complaints come up.
*
Looks like you should blame the mobo manufacturer instead.
I have no issue from day 1. yawn.gif I also built 2 x 3200G with MSI / Gigabyte mobo, works fine.

i see you have the knowledge to select   the  ones that work  .
if all  major feature s work  as advertise  that i will say  fine .

What i see in this forum  is  user s  always  recommend   say a mobo   and they  never voice out  if  something is not right/working comparing to spec/advertise  or there is an issue .

just an example  recently  .  i did a quick look at Asrock  mobo   forums   .    saw many users  complaining about  rgb  app   not working and not fix as of today too.
my conclusion  is  Asrock  mobo  is OK   but  stay  away  if you miss RGB .  cos RGB will not work  on some  chipsets  and  when it will  be fix  no news .

Never a fans of ASRock mobo, don't see any reason recommending it after seeing the lame update and cost-cutting on the power delivery. icon_idea.gif

Historically, only MSI spent effort on the first gen Ryzen, the other manufacturers just simply not doing that. puke.gif The MSI tester, toppc lin also show up actively to tell what they are working on and explain what is working, not working, and the reason behind.

That's because the normal version has problems supporting Ryzen 3000 CPUs due to 16MB (128Mb) BIOS chip - IINM MSI even have to trim the BIOS quite significantly in order to fit inside the chip icon_idea.gif

They did manage to support Ryzen 3000 CPUs, but they have to remove (or trim down) some features sweat.gif

Apparently it doesn't make sense for the user to install game in it. Even 240GB hardly cuts it.
