Can I know which processor can go with this mobo? (already bought)

Asus Prime B350M-A | AM4 socket | 4DDR4 | mATX

I've been told to get Ryzen 5 1600 but due to budget constrain, it's hard to get it as this period of time. Is there any other cheaper alternative options compare to ryzen 5 1600?

I am with Zotac 1050 TI Mini as GPU.

AMD Ryzen 3 1200. The motherboard B350M does support overclocking.

From default 3.1 GHz up to 3.8 GHz.

Hi all,

Appreciate and many thanks in advance!

[Budget] RM1.5k (only for casing, motherboard, memory, ssd, power supply). Exclude external peripherals like monitor/mouse/keyboard. Budget exclude processor also (targeting i7 with built in graphics). Leaving out graphics card for now, may plan to purchase separately in future.

[Purpose] Mainly to do video montage, editing, not professional but personal hobby to edit/combine/make personal videos. web browsing, microsoft office and play games occasionally.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] none. plan to build new.

[Monitor resolution] 22 inch monitor, 1080p perhaps.

[Games & softwares that use frequently] FB games, emulator games

[Personal preferences] For lady user, small casing helps. Prefer stability of system also, won't be overclocking etc. as long as everything just works smoothly.

[Location] Penang

From the above, do you think i'll need i7 or i5 processor will do?

Very low budget and small form factor increases it even more. Video editing is automatic the best you can get and 16GB RAM recommended. Unless you can wait a month or two. Budget motherboards for Coffee Lake is coming out according to the news.

Power supply is trash. Go for Corsair VS or FSP Hexa 450W instead.

You can find MSI Z370 Gaming Plus at RM599 and Asrock Z370M Pro4 at RM520 from lelong. For WoW, that's more than enough. Graphic card may need upgrade if you want higher settings though.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Just want to ask SEAGATE BARRACUDA DESKTOP - 287 is the 1TB HDD?

And also, how does the i5 processor you suggest compare to the Ryzen 5 1600?

Finally, if i want to keep the budget to around RM4k, what should I remove?

For desktop general use, no heavy gaming. The most heavy work would be to edit personal video that was captured using low end camera (like smartphone)

Looking for motherboard for intel i7 socket 1151 8xxx (preferable) or 7xxx

Must have
6 SATA
Support up to 32G RAM
Built in display that support 2 output at the same time (VGA/DVI & HDMI)
or... should I get display card?
Plus point if got thunderbolt 3 port (like I will ever use it)

Budget below RM1000
---------------------------------------------
Monitor 23 inch with IPS
Budget below RM1000
--------------------------------------------
Casing with most front USB port
Budget below RM700
------------------------------------------
I might need AVR, but no idea what kind they have in market, like maybe they have rating like PSU where they can support something like 500VA... if someone can give insight would be appreciated.

No, I don't need UPS. No electricity is as sign that I need to go out.

this is what i got:
Asus TUF Z370-PLUS, the only mobo they have
Dell S2218H, same as your suggestion only smaller
Cooler Master NSE-400-KWN2, they don't have thermaltake

What is that ASMedia USB 3.1 Gen 2? How it's different from the normal USB 3.1?

You will need adapter. Full speed is not guaranteed. If you plug it on PCI X16 slot 2, you may get it. Your graphic card will be running on X8 though. Don't worry about the graphic card performance.

I suggest you check with MSI before buying. Can't guarantee it can boot from PCIE.
