Good morning SIFUS, Is this spec worth to buy now?

Pls let me know if any parts that need to be improvised?
*
Low quality motherboard, overpriced GPU and very low quality PSU sweat.gif

At that price you might just as well wait for a PS5 instead, or a prebuilt from Dell/HP (if you want to deal with proprietary and non-upgradeable parts, bloatware and poor cooling) sweat.gif

Spend RM1k more on branded rigs with 3060 Ti. Custom gaming rig prices are silly due to inflated GPU price.
*
...or just get a console instead (because according to Gamers Nexus, most prebuilts have terrible thermals and build quality, along with non-upgradeable parts and bloatware) sweat.gif

GPU prices are still far too expensive doh.gif

Also why the 10400 over the 11400F? sweat.gif

Hi Sifus sekalian, plan to upgrade my rig to below.

Ryzen 5 5600X
Gigabyte B550 Arous Elite
Gigabyte Aorous RGB 3773mhz (2 x 8GB)
XPG Spectrix S40G RGB (512GB)
Deapcool DQ Series 650W 80+Gold

use back graph card and casing

Total around RM 3200
original rig is intel I5 4440 with 16GB ram and GTX960.

plan to up the GPU to 3060 in the future once the price reasonable.

Is it good or any better recommendation?

Thanks!

Mind waiting 3-4 months for Alder Lake? Might be better to wait for Alder Lake + DDR5 over going for a dead end platform icon_idea.gif

Also PSU is pretty mediocre for its price (the Corsair RM650 is better) icon_idea.gif

Thanks Sifu...

Seem like I better wait longer. cause the GPU price is so high right now, no plan to paid the scalper price.

Btw, the new gen cpu will have huge improvement?

We can't know for sure, but there is a rumor that the flagship 12900K is 25% faster than the 5950X, but take this with a grain of salt icon_idea.gif

hello sifus,

I'm running 2x 8GB ram and i find that my memory usage is always at arounf 80-90% and some programs would crash if it goes higher.

B450 tomahawk
Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 8GBx2

Would going 32GB solve my issues?
*
What programs? It might be a memory leak so check for that first instead of upgrading the memory icon_idea.gif

Overpriced CPU, and GPU prices are very high right now, and it might be better to go for a prebuilt (if you are willing to deal with poor cooling, non-upgradeable parts and bloatware) sweat.gif

Still better than paying for stupidly priced GPU. There are CPU coolers that are compatible.

Any suggestion on what parts to get for a processor, ram and mobo with a budget of 2000?
Ram 16gb, preferrably itx mobo?

Seems like only viable CPU are i5 11400F or R5 3600?

Ignore 3600. Overpriced CPU. ITX is more expensive too. Its pricey unless you get crappy Asrock B560M-ITX/ac. Good one is Asus B560-I.

Yes, only i5-11400 or F. Anything higher is less price/performance. You still need cooler as well. Stock cooler is rubbish.

Overpriced CPU and graphic card. Buy branded rigs with 3060 Ti for 6k.

I wonder how many times I need to repeat because people don't read earlier posts.
Scythe Mugen 5 for cooler, Arctic Cooling Liquid Freezer II 360 or Corsair H150i Elite Capellix if you wanna go there.

Phanteks Eclipse P500A or Fractal Design Meshify 2 (not compact) for case.

Thank you sir , sorry will read on previous post

There is ID Cooling SE-224XT. Kindly take note CPU these days will boost according with the cooling (and how good is the motherboard's VRM) they have. That is the reason why Mugen 5 is recommended.
