sorry guys, i gotta ask again, i found some other deals. which platform is good for light gaming? both are about 1.9k

11500 + rog b560-g

-OR-

5600g + tuf b550m plus wifi
*
What light games? hmm.gif

If you want to game now and get a dGPU later (when GPU prices normalize) the second one is the better choice, and the board will even allow you to upgrade to a 5950X in the future icon_idea.gif

The iGPU in the 11500 is not very useful outside of office/media work icon_idea.gif

Hi forumers,

How is the spec listed below?
Around rm3000, building it for work purposes, multitasking.
30inch 2560x1080monitor.
PROCESSOR INTEL S1200 CORE I5 11400 2.6GHZ **
MAINBOARD ASUS INTEL S1200 B460M-K PRIME
RAM ADATA DESKTOP DDR4 16GB PC2666

POWER SUPPLY AIGO GP SERIES 550W 80PLUS BRONZE
CASING AVF ATX ACCS560-BGU3 USB3.0 BLK/GREEN

Low quality PSU and overpriced GPU sweat.gif

Board has no heatsinks mean high VRM temps, which translate to CPU performance loss due to VRM throttling icon_idea.gif

What kind of workloads and multitasking are you doing on your PC though? hmm.gif

For a 5600X (or a 65W TDP CPU) there's no need for a board like this sweat.gif
...also it might be better to swap the 5600X to a 5600G, as it is priced similar to the 5600X, and you can forgo the GPU for things like dual channel memory and larger SSD storage icon_idea.gif

Any recommended CPU w/o breaking my wallet?

The best out there is a 3770, but it's more or less a quad core with hyperthreading, and the recent CPU vulnerability fixes might have lowered its performance further icon_idea.gif

I'd recommend you to wait for Alder Lake to arrive here, then upgrade icon_idea.gif

For PSUs, something in the line of the XPG Pylon 550W should do the trick:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/adata-xp...9162493463.html?

The TUF Gaming Bronze is better, as this one is mostly a rebodied Corsair CX with some component changes icon_idea.gif

A 550W PSU is more than enough for a 6600XT icon_idea.gif

I don't recommend building a PC right now due to very high GPU prices, so it's either a prebuilt or go console if you can icon_idea.gif

Hello, looking for downsize my wife's rig. Can someone suggest me parts for Mini ITX build with case that can fit an ATX PSU? Saves me some moolah from needing to buy a new SFX.

Budget around 2k or lower. Monitors, HDD, GPU (1050ti) and preferrably ATX PSU will be carried forward from existing rig.

Some of the cases that I found can fit ATX PSU, just not sure how small they are:
Fractal Node 304
Silverstone SG13
Jonsbo C2
Cooler Master ELITE 110
Thermaltake Core V1

PSU is rather mediocre though sweat.gif

Also single channel RAM and 128GB SSD? sweat.gif

TS is looking for a mITX machine, and why would you recommend a GPU and PSU when TS is reusing them?

Is there any possibility that hardware part price will go down in near future? I'm not rushing but I guess It will still cost around rm5k to get a mid end setup right?

China has banned crypto in some capacity, so it might lead to lower cryptocurrency prices (and possibly an inrush of graphics cards being sold cheaply), but do note that the chip shortage is still ongoing:

I know, but note that crypto is increasingly being eyed by many financial regulators worldwide so there might be a chance of dropping tongue.gif

Hi everyone, finally save enough for a new PC, still at a limited budget

[Budget] RM 2800

[Purpose] Casual AAA gaming, I don't mind play in high-med setting, at long as no lagging

[Hardwares that will be re-use] my storage HDD and SDD will port over, so only need a new nvme as boot drive, GPU GTX 1650 will move over too

[Monitor resolution] use back monitor with 1080p

[Games & softwares that use frequently] currently playing GTA5, Path Of Exile, Battlefront 2, planning to play Cyberpunk 2077 with new machine, as I said I don't mind med setting

[Personal preferences] I plan to build around i5-11400 core, but I'm open to ideas

[Location] Selangor Cheras

Thanks in advance  notworthy.gif

Would like to ask for suggestions for a new PC build.
I intend to cannibalize off my older PC into the new build to avoid the high costs of GPU these days. I'll make a GPU purchase in a couple of years once the cost stabilizes. So my old PC will become a secondary PC for more basic tasks using the Integrated Graphics.

Old PC
CPU: Intel Core I7 7700
MOBO: ASUS PRIME B250M-A
RAM: GSKill AEGIS 16GB DDR4 2400mhz
GPU: Gigabyte GTX1080 G1 Gaming 8GB DDR5X
PSU: Xigmatek Shogun 700W 80+ Bronze PSU
Case: Sharkoon DG7000-G RED
SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
HDD: WD 2TB Caviar Blue HDD
Components to be ported over :
GPU: Gigabyte GTX1080 G1 Gaming 8GB DDR5X
HDD: WD 2TB Caviar Blue HDD
New PC Request
Budget - RM 5-6k (PC only, no need monitor)
Mainly for gaming and some video editing.
GPU and HDD to be re-used above.
Do not intend to overclock so reference grade is fine.
Plan to go for a higher end GPU, maybe a 3080, in the future so PSU and MOBO should support it.
CPU thinking of Ryzen. Don't think there will be compatibility issues with the GPU?
RAM 32MB preferred.
*
Mind waiting for Alder Lake instead? There's not much point buying a dead end platform right now when DDR5 is right around the corner tongue.gif

Could have gotten a better PSU - the V850 V2 is a better choice than the Thermaltake:

Review:

Hey guys! So heres my current rig specs.

Intel Core i5 7600K
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4
ASUS Z270i Strix Gaming
Zotac GeForce GTX1080Ti Amp Edition
Samsung 850 EVO 500GB
WD 1TB Black HDD 2.5"
ID-Cooling IS60 CPU Cooler
Noctua F12 Fan
Silverstone ML08B ITX Chassis
Silverstone 600W 80+Gold SFX PSU Full Modular

Recently I've encountered issues when playing certain games where the games just hang and crash. I have a suspicion it may be due to the CPU having permanent damage due to the fact I did not realize the thermal paste got dried up for quite a long time. So I was thinking of upgrading my rig(only keep my GPU) and probably add another stick of 16GB RAM. Any recommendations for a budget of around 4-5K to upgrade the required parts?

Thanks!

This is quite unlikely, as CPUs do not gets damaged from high CPU temps (but excessive voltages do) icon_idea.gif

Is it a hard crash (i.e. you need to press the reset button on the PC case), or a soft crash (i.e. the game crashes, but Windows still remains responsive)? hmm.gif
