Two 60W light bulbs when maxed out. Should be less after removing Titan Xp.

Not recommended to torrent or CCTV using SSD. It will kill that fast.

Thanks for the info - titan xp would probably be overkill for a media server.

I have a 4 bay synology NAS box with 1 HDD that I use a bit like a scratch disc. surely by torrenting directly to that mapped drive I can reduce the number of writes to the onboard SSD?

*thanks followmerogerthat for the case recommendation - more things to consider

That power benchmark was using Titan Xp.

Yeah, using mapped drive by default should focus on that disk.

And the asrock mobo not too overkill? I just need a simple set up and have no plan for fancy set up like sli

I understand that..

But how significant is the improvement for my usage and does it justify the extra rn2xx in price?

What i mean is if the improvement is not that much for usage i mentioned earlier it would make sense for me to just get the pentium and save money

Also tq for your input

Hi,

I would like to build a desktop. Currently below are the parts which I prepare use:
1 x processor - i7 - 7700k (bought)
1 x motherboard - gigabyte z270x Gaming 7 (bought)
2 x ram - hyper fury 2400 8GB DDR4
1 x samsung SSD - 250GB
1 x Harddisk - 2TB/3TB
1 x GPU - zotac 1080 AMP edition
1 x monitor (should be 27'' ~ 31'')

My purpose is to play games, watch movie, play ps4 games etc. Can help to check is the above combination fine? If fine, can help to recommend:
1. Which fan/heat sink is suitable for processor? It is not included when I bought the processor. Might do over clock if needed.
2. What type of casing is better? My friend suggest Tecware Alpha. If Tecware Alpha, seems like 3 fans included (2 front, 1 rear). Still need extra fans?
3. Which power supply is better? Is 750W enough?
4. Any other missing parts in the desktop?

Thank you.

You can't play PS4 games on PC unless it is an emulator.

1. Go for at least Coolermaster Hyper 212X
2. Bigger casing is better for high end setup. Heat accumulates slower. Aesthetics is entirely up to you.
3. Go for quality power supply like Super Flower Leadex Gold, EVGA Supernova, Corsair HX or AX series, Seasonic. You can't go wrong with these brands.
4. Nope

Get your fact right first doh.gif

NZXT Kraken is not RM 1000 range, the most expensive one (X62) is just RM 759.

And Tecware Alpha is a standard ATX case with 240mm top and 280mm front radiator support, plenty of space for AIO water cooler.

Depends on which type of games you are going to play, I can see they all come with GTX1050Ti so the main deciding factor would be CPU, if the games you play is CPU demanding then pick the Ryzen 5 1600 build, if not then the i3 will do, you could even swap the i5 7400 to Ryzen 5 1400 build if your budget is around 2.8k.

BTW for both Intel builds, the mobo picked is mATX form factor, it won't fit in the ITX case (CM Elite 130 is an ITX case) FYI.

RM 600 can get a 1080p IPS monitor already, look for ViewSonic VA2419-SH/Dell S2218H/S2318H/Acer R221Q etc.
