More importantly, you avoid having to pay a premium over branded ones.Would help to know what resolution you are planning to run eg 1080p, 1440p, 4k and the kind of games you are into. Also, your RM4500 budget is inclusive of monitor and other peripherals like keyboard, mouse, etc or just for the rig? |

with that budget , u can smile already
but still. wait for ryzen review out and u can finalize ur built btw u can start finding other piece 1. NVMe Pcie ssd : either samsung 950 or intel 750 is good 2. HDD : 1-3 tb is ok. 3. RAM : minimum 8gb.. preferably 16gb. kingston fury X is good budget already. u dont need high performance ram aka pricey ram tbh 4. GFX : this is the large chunk of ur budget.. check out last year 1070 or 1080 ( meanwhile the next gen gfx is around the corner already from AMD and Nvidia ) 5. CPU & motherboard.. expect 2k budget here if u want ryzen 7 or i7 |

Sometimes you just can't wait no more. That happened to me once.
But how soon do you "need" this pc rig, eh TS? |

QUOTE(Echomulus @ Feb 27 2017, 04:35 PM) With your budget, running games adequately in 4k will be challenging. Below is more suited for 1080p and possibly 1440p with lower in-game settings:1. CPU - i5-7500 (RM899) - can save some if go for i5-7400 (RM835) 2. MOBO - Gigabyte GA-Gaming B8 (RM589) 3. RAM - GSkill 2x8Gb DDR4-2800 (RM649) 4. Gigabyte GTX1060 Windforce OC 6GB (RM1385) 5. PSU FSP HEXA+550W (RM229) - I would suggest a better PSU eg SuperFlower Leadex Silver 650W (RM399) 6. Case - Fractal Design Defince C window (RM399) 7. SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 120Gb (RM299) 8. HDD - 1TB 7200rpm (RM219) Total - RM4668 before "rebates" from Idealtech. You can check it out here. |

QUOTE(Echomulus @ Feb 27 2017, 04:37 PM) I doubt that we can get AMD's Ryzen 5 at that time. so from red camp, you only have ryzen 7 to look to. but they're expensive, $329 for the lowest priced one. and that's without a heatsink/fan. correct me if i'm wrong, please, guys.might want to look for second hand i7 though. in my mind, a cpu is quite safe to buy 2nd hand (worst would probably be hdd/ssd). get that and you can build around it. i tend to agree with salimbest83 above. for GPU, go for 1060 6gb at least. RAM 16gb - normal type is ok already. don't forget, SSD. the normal SATA type is good enough already. Better types of SSD would require better mobo, so price might be the limiting factor. edit. last time I built my rig, cost about 4k with i5 (new, not second hand) with roughly the above guidelines. RAM - GSkill 2x8Gb DDR4-2800 (RM649) get the Corsair Memory 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 2133MHz CL15 DIMM (CMV8GX4M1A2133C15) RM 250x2 .. shave 150 here 7. SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 120Gb (RM299).. u need 240gb in 2017 with 16gb ram and few steam games 6. Case - Fractal Design Defince C window (RM399).. can shave another 200+ here and go to ur ssd ( i bought my last thermaltake case with 2 usb 3 front panel for just 125 tho ) |

If you wanna play games on 1440p:
1. GPU: At least get a GTX1070 for your build. 2. PROC+MOBO: If you are planning to overclock, get a Z-series mobo if you wanna go for intel so that even if you do not have the budget for an unlocked processor now, you can always upgrade in the future without the need of changing other mobo. Or wait for ryzen release of the R5 series. 3. RAM: Depending on your mobo choice, if you are not planning to overclock, just buy a basic 2133mhz ram (that looks nice ofc) because only Z-series mobo supports ram oc. There are H170/B150 mobo that supports ram oc by tweaking bclk but it won't matter much if you are not into overclocking anyways. 4. PSU: get at least 80+ bronze certified psu. 5. HDD/SSD: Any 1TB hdd is fine. SSD can be put on hold if you are on the edge of your budget. 6. Case: Any case that you like. This is a very subjective matter. Example build: GTX1070 Strix rm1899 Intel i56400 rm800 Asrock Z170 Extreme 4 rm655 (can swap to B150/H110 and go for better proc if you are not going to overclock) HyperX Fury DDR4 2400 1x8GB rm303 (can swap to 2133mhz if you are not going to overclock) Superflower leadex 550W 80+ gold rm429 (can swap for at least cheaper 80+ bronze but this here is Tier 1 psu which is very very good one) 1TB WD Blue HDD rm210 Tecware Titan Case rm259 Total RM4555 |

QUOTE(salimbest83 @ Feb 28 2017, 09:50 AM) Yep, it's best to have SSD for windows. The one I draft there can be further fine tuned for OP purpose. I agree with you on 240GB ssd addition instead of 120GB. Swapping mobo and psu to cheaper ones will definitely get him a 250GB ssd. But 120GB is a no go for me as even 250GB is only having enough space for like 3-4 AAA games. |

QUOTE(abu.shofwan @ Feb 28 2017, 12:03 PM) i support. yup. delay the fancy casing and ram is more preferablerather than delay ssd, delay the secondary hdd. must have ssd and 240-256 is the minimum (regardless of whether you have a secondary hdd or not) and mobo also i think can find a below 600 if dont planning to SLI those saving really can get 240gb samsung evo 840 or 850 already |

I have an old system with Intel LGA-775 processor with NVidia GTX460, Creative Titanium HD, 1 SSD, and 3 HDD.
Plan to upgrade to latest processors. With this change, I need to buy a new motherboard, RAM (DDR4 3200 MHz), processor. Budget with RM3500. Please recommend me best combination. Oh ya, can I just use back the rest of the component (sound card, NVidia GTX460) Thanks in advance. |
