to be on the safe side, load the file at virustotal.com for check against the av engine in there. This would give u an idea if it is an FP. If confirmed FP, send email 2 them & attach ur file

You visit the website. It will ask you to upload a file for scanning. It scan. Results pop out. PERIOD. No details needed to give them. Cheers!

From the Virus Total Report, CloseApp IS NOT a virus. BUT, it is ranked as riskware. Which also means, unless you really need it, it is not necessary and MIGHT pose as a Security Risk (as in being a Hacker Tool). Cheers!

I don't remember CloseApp.Exe being a Windows File. Unless I am most mistaken wink.gif

**NOTE:I will take this case from here.**

Having the file there after deletion? Sounds like a piece of malware.

I need you to do only 1 simple thing. Goto Kaspersky AV Website. Select Kaspersky Online Scanner (It's Free!). Scan then Attach the results. It will take sometime though.

Pm me when your done. Cheers!

EDIT: CloseApp.EXE is not a piece of malware. But, it might be bundled to one. So, take no chances.

I know it is from Traction Software. Problem is, it is not in ALL/Everybody's Computer. It is an OPTIONAL DOWNLOADABLE piece of software. I don't use it, and it is NOT in my computer. I never had to use it. biggrin.gif

If there is no other alerts of malware, then it is up to you whether you intend to keep CloseAPP or not. I wouldn't exactly encourage it, but it is your choice. Cheers!
