Recently, my dad said I might be getting a new tv because the old CRT one is already going kaput (screen flickers all the time bottom half of the screen covered with black bars) and it doesn't even support 480p so just wondering if I should get a 40" Bravia X or 32" Samsung R7 ok! thanks!

Even a handicapped person will tell you to go for the Bravia X

On a side note.. since it's your dad's that's buying it, get a 5.1 sound system as well.. what's a big visual for without a big audio ?

I think this is the wrong tread to discuss about this.
You should get the samsung cos if the Bravia X will burn a hole in your father's wallet, we have to pity them.

Well, if buy Bravia X then buy with home theatre system but if buy R7 then I get 360 and NDSL also so I cannot decide la... Ok! Thanks!

Watching astro will be abit clear i think,but my Bravia X already pretty good when watching astro even without the Astro Picture ENhancement Mode.

Well, If you buy Sony then better you chose Sharp Aquos 42G7M. Its Cheaper but have even faster respond time than Sony 40" X series. Some more the Tv is larger, 42".

If you have a fix budget then go for LG LCD Tv. Is the cheapest LCD with quality, no need waste time for chosing any other LCD.
