I want to try this recipe for Pesto



One of the ingredients is "nutritional yeast" - any idea where i can buy it?

I am off dairy so do not want to use cheese.

Nutritional yeast is optional but you can get it from aeon organic section or jaya grocer.

I used to try dairy free pesto too. Just substitute pine nuts with roasted 50% almonds + 50% cashew and a bit of lime juice that will give you the consistency and sour taste of cheese.

Basil is the main ingredient whereas olive oil, nuts and cheese can be replaced without much affecting the flavor. However it is best to use extra virgin olive oil.

I haven't shopped at Aeon for ages so didn't know but will look this weekend.

The JayaGrocer i go to does not hv nutritional yeast or perhaps I can't find it.
