Does accessories shop do PPF for headlight?
*
IMO, better go to a reputable tint shop that also carry PPF. The quality is surely better than accessory shop PPF

But I personally use the Viofo A119. Had some problems with mine now, but my wife's unit is great!

What do you mean by install GPS? Installing on the head unit itself - no cannot. Or did you mean using Apple Carplay / Android Auto on the head unit? Or did you mean using Waze / other GPS software on the phone to display at the head unit?

The Head Unit doesn't allow anyone to install any application at all. You are out of luck

Best case is to use your smartphone GPS app, connect to USB to charge and get audio feed, place above HU with aircond blowing at it.
*
Ha3! I also do this smile.gif

QUOTE(netcrawler @ Mar 6 2017, 05:05 PM)
I'm novice, i just want to use GPS or Waze in the head unit? How to do that? Android Auto?
*
Can either try to do as per the above suggestion (open waze on phone, charge it using USB cable connected to the below console, put it horizontally at the space/gap between the HU and aircond.

If you use Apple CarPlay, you can only use Apple Maps. If you use Android Auto, you can only use Google Maps (for now, Waze will be coming *soon*). If you want waze, you can either use the above method OR use a HDMI bypass cable. HU can only mirror while on parking brake. It will disengage mirroring once you disengage the parking brake as a safety feature. You can view the demo video on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto at the first page, 2nd post.

Wanna confirm 1 thing from Civic 1.5TC user , is that if we start the car without move , the oil life actually will drop too ?
*
Yes. If you're stuck in a jam, the oil life will drop regardless if you're moving or not. Engine oil will detiorate when not moving because of the heat generated (car not moving = no airflow to the engine).

Guys,

1. Is it possible to get a replacement for free? Hehehe
2. If kenot will it be always cheaper to go back to the same shop for replacement?
3. If not does anyone know any good llumar authorized shop that gives a good deal for the windscreen only?
*
AFAIK:

1. No, they also need to make a living tongue.gif
2. No, you can go anywhere coz the warranty is electronic

IINM, the cost is below RM600 - can call them up and ask.

What is the minimum length for the USB cable to be run through to the cable area in the dash? I tried searching in V1 - V4 but no mention of the length.

I'm wondering if the 25cm Pineng Short Cable would suffice, or if I should get the 1m quick charge Pineng 1M cable ?
*
1M is more than enough. 25cm also ok - if you're only putting it at the console area in front of the gear.

To all forum contributors here,
Thank you for the awesome details provided for the car.
Just a quick question, does the sloping off shoulder front seats a nuisance to you?
Will you feel fatigue after long drive? I test drive it and found this is a bit worrying. Thanks!!
*
I'm a big sized guy, and I don't have any fatigue problems on long drives - but need to ask others.

Yes, this was shared last time, but the downside is need to do it everytime you start the car.

QUOTE(xiahjunsu @ Mar 10 2017, 04:22 AM)
does anyone here experience the engine gets louder and vibrates whenever the RPM reaches 2800-3000? because i ve been driving the car more than 9 months and noticed this very often and did not really have the chance to ask you guys here (was busy and kinda forgetful as well). Anyway, the car is very smooth and quiet until the RPM reached 2.8k-3k and can notice the engine gets kinda louder and vibrates.
*
Loud yes, but didn't notice the vibration you mentioned. Is it a bad vibration (whole car?), during driving? Or while at a complete stop?

I just experienced this during hard acceleration. In my case it wasn't burning smell but the smell outside. I think the AC system opens the vents to let outside air in. In my case I was driving past an area that's smelly, I think there's a rubbish disposal site nearby and during hard acceleration, the smell came into the cabin.
*
AC system is not totally closed loop, even if you choose internal circulation mode. Some outside air is mixed. If really closed loop, we will die of carbon dioxide poisoning sia laugh.gif.

SC recommends 0-20? Any1 tried 0-30?
*
No need to waste money on 0W-30, unless you're planning to rev to 6K rpm on a regular basis. Our car can use 0W-30 of course, but the oil is only recommended for Civic Type-R or Accord V6.

Collected my TCP silver this morning. I must say it looked menacing waiting for me biggrin.gif

SA even gave me RM20 to pour fuel as he didn't fill up enough. Definitely a very nice and completely unexpected gesture.

I do have a question, seems the rear wheel well interior is not plastic but the same fabric/material as the boot cover. Seems odd to me, the rest of you guys have the same?

SA call me this afternoon, told my booking 1.5tc arrived already..But until today i still in dilema, either 1.5tc or 1.8..haha..

And after i read about new honda city facelift 2017, grade v, i even in dilema..

Still not very confident with turbo engine because i hardly follow the maintenance frequency.. my current car, city, mileage shown 167k but service turn is 125k..almost 50k overdue..
*
Dude... 50k overdue is serious. You mean you never went to any servicing at all? Your engine might be filled with sludge by now... how long since you serviced the car snyway? 2 years?

hi all,

just got my windscreen replaced. how long do i typically have to wait before i can go and tint the windscreen (for the silicon to set)?

service guys and llumar giving me different answers i was hoping someone can give me a more definitive answer here.

thanks all.
*
AFAIK, even going to the car wash is a no no for at least 24 hours. 3 days is a much more safe time to wait.

May I know what is your cost to replace the windshield?

thanks

its RM1.8k~ .. windscreen insurance covered.

tho i am not sure if the same prices applies for 1.8 or 1.5tcp.

cuz the service rep needed to know my actual variant before ordering the windscreen. not sure why.
*
Hmmm... if 1.8K is just for the windscreen, I'd better top up my windscreen insurance to include tint cost as well. A bit weird they asked for variant, since the windscreen should be the same...

What was their advice anyway on the duration to wait before tinting your windscreen?
