Which models in particular are you considering?

The 13" MBP 2016? The 13" with touch bar? The 15" with touch bar?
Or the 2015 MBP?

Currently considering 13" MBP 2016 w/o touchbar and 2015 MBP.

2016 MBP is 2.0GHz and 2015 MBP is 2.7GHz but topup extra RM400 to get 2.9GHz, not sure which one is better so decided to post up here to seek for advices.

get the RAM upgrade.
The processor upgrade is not worth it, negligible differences

i am comparing these 2 MBP as well..
but i am thinking to upgrade the SSD to 256gb for MBP 2015.
when doing this, the price delta in between MBP 2015 vs MBP 2016 (w/o touchbar) will be very closed, even MBP 2015 will be a bit expensive than MBP 2016. but with higher processor 2.7Ghz but i heard the MBP 2016 processor is better even the Ghz is lesser at 2.0GHz.

Processor might be better but not so noticeable.

I think the main concern is about the ports.

What will you be using the MacBook Pro for? What kind of apps / usage?

A RAM or SSD upgrade is normally more beneficial than an incremental processor upgrade.

Fully agreed. If choosing the MacBook Pro 2015, you will get two usable USB Type-A ports as the MagSafe charging port is independent, very different than the MacBook Pro 2016 Non-Touch Bar version which allows only a single usable USB Type-C port as the other port is normally used to plug in the charger. However, multi-port dongles can alleviate this issue (albeit inconveniently).
