Previously, my Hotlink prepaid expires on 13 March 2017.

Earlier today, I top-up rm30 via Maxis Online Top-up, and the prepaid extends till 24 March 2017.

Why the extension of 11 days ONLY, for rm30 top-up??
I believe it should extend 30 days more???

Other mobile operators will extend rm1 = 1 day.

But Maxis charged, rm30 for 11 days ONLY.??

THIS IS A COMPLETELY RIP-OFF

30 days from date of topup and not from date of expiry, maybe?

That was totally rip-off.
Others mobile operators has extension of rm1 = 1 day

But Hotlink, from the day of top-up.
How much money they suck.

Hi raja.bersiong,

Please note that the validity extension will be based on the date that you perform the top up & not the inactive or expire date.

For instance, if your number inactive date is 28 Feb 2017 & your perform a top up of RM10 today (23 Feb 2017), your active date will be extend for another 10 days from today (the date that you perform top up) & which will be 5th March 2017.

Hope it clarify your doubt

TQ

Thanks for the clarification.

It sound like a rip-off.

Other Mobile operators will extend another 10 days, if we top up every rm10.
Which sound great and fair

As far as I know, all (except OneXOX) do not stack their validity.

All are basically based on RM1 for 1 day (except Tron, where a minimum of RM10 gives you 365 days).

BUT, all (except OneXOX) not stacking their validity, means the number of days are calculated from the day you top up. Same for Celcom, same for DiGi, as you've experienced with Maxis Hotlink.

I'm not sure about U Mobile, though.

Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong, as above is based on my own experience.

It seems, Celcom follows Maxis & U Mobile.

Except for Digi.

As have been explained by others, every topup of RM1 = 1day validity applies to almost all telcos. The validity extension calculation itself have been in use for over 20 years.

Your topup was done on 22 Feb thus the standard validity calculation is applicable by adding 30 days beginning 22 Feb itself. This is also explained in all applicable telco's TnC (in this case would be hotlink).

If you wanted stacking validity whereby a RM30 topup will add another full 30 days to your existing validity then there is only one telco offering this which is OneXOX. ..... (err, I forgot about Tron with 365days extension for RM10 ... hahaha)

All other telcos uses the same validity extension calculation, which I repeat again, have been in use for over 20 years.

If this is a rip-off then you're complaining 20 years too late ...

I'd suggest that you direct your complains directly to the current CEO of Maxis .... He's norwegian btw .... ask him why Maxis is not offering kontantkort prepaids like the EU or at least like the ones in norway ...

The same person was CEO of Digi between 2004 to 2008 ... then he was at vodafone before becoming Maxis CEO in 2013.

He could have made malaysian prepaids offering similar to "other countries" but that didn't happen ....

So, why all the noise ?
