I use the https://aip.com.au/pricing/international-pr...al-market-watch - Market Price for Fuel (US$ per Barrel), and the http://www.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=statist...s_exchangerates for the exchange rate (11:30am, selling rate). The numbers that I got is in the link above.

The current RON95 price is RM1.93 and RON97 is RM2.23 which was announced on Friday 4/1.

if calculating 7/1 to 11/1 cycle (Monday to Friday current week), RON95 should be around RM1.94, and RON97 should be around RM2.08 (as of 10/1)

My estimate, they will be announcing that either RON95 price will remain, or go up/down by 1 sen, and RON97 should go down by 15 sen.

Let's see what they will be announcing this evening, then we can estimate how are they calculating.

Hmmm... looks like they are including saturday and sunday into the calculation. Will do some analysis and share on how they are calculating this.

If calculating 7/3 to 13/3 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), RON95 should be around RM2.23, and RON97 should be around RM2.53.

However, since they announced that RON95 will be capped at RM2.08/l, my estimate, that they will be announcing that RON95 will maintain at RM2.08 and RON97 price will go up by 7 sen to RM2.53 (±1 sen).

Well there are people who pump 97 because its better for the environment plus they can afford it.

Malaysia petrol standard
RON97 is EURO4
RON92 is EURO2

Does every petrol stations here using the same Euro grade? And how do we know what Euro grade that the petrol brand using?

All RON97 fuel in Malaysia is EURO4M compliant, and all RON95 fuel in Malaysia is EURO2M compliant - no matter what brand of fuel you are using. If you have any proof that they are not complying, you can make a report to KPDNKK. All other fuel types (Shell V-Power Racing & Petron RON100) are at least EURO4M compliant.

There are a few types of Diesel available, either EURO2M (Black hose) or EURO5M (Blue hose). The price difference between the 2 is 10 sen.

EURO4M is more environmentally friendly compared to EURO2M due to the significantly less sulphur content. Other countries such as Singapore are already using EURO6 fuel.
