Unfortunately I will be travelling overseas for work starting from tomorrow, so I may not be able to update tomorrow or Thursday.

As of 19/8, the estimated RON97 fuel price is RM2.21/l - an increase of 2 sen.

Calculation and table of estimated price can be found at this link: https://goo.gl/cpYiBN

If calculating 2/1 to 8/1 cycle (Thursday to Wednesday - weekends are using Friday prices), RON95 should be around RM2.31, and RON97 should be around RM2.61.

However, since they announced that RON95 will be capped at RM2.08/l, my estimate is RON95 will maintain at RM2.08 and RON97 will go down by 4 sen to RM2.61 (±1 sen).

surprisingly the oil war does not impact the rising oil price.
Happy new year and thanks

Why is that so? For Petronas, 1 litre equals 3 points/ 3 cents. Can redeem any amount just by swiping card at pump.
*
Best rewards are petron as no expiry on the points and it's cheaper to redeem for fuel.

QUOTE(B500 @ Feb 21 2020, 09:27 AM)
Actually now since Ron 95 is also euro 4, what's the point of using Ron 97 if your car isn't a high performance one? Or am I missing something here..
*
longer distance.
for me, 97 i can go further with the same fuel.
so if 97 is less than 30 cents of 95 i will pump 97 as i can save more.

QUOTE(mcchin @ Feb 21 2020, 02:48 PM)
by latest calculations,

your car efficiency needs to be 14.42% on Ron97 compared to to Ron95 just to break even

if you're getting 450km on ron 95
you need 515km on Ron97 just to be on par

@ 700km, ron95
you need 800km on ron97
*
thats around there.
it all comes back to you yourself what petrol or what brand u want.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Apr 21 2020, 02:04 PM)
That is why I said mostly just nonsense psychological placebo effect. Even long term benefits still not proven.

Real case example, for Toyota Mark X, many say MUST use 97 or else engine will have problems. Well I have been filling up 95 for 8 years into my Mark X and guess what, no issues whatsoever! Fuel consumption still as good as any other Mark X out there if not better, power about the same and can still accelerate 0-100 in less than 8 secs and top speeds over 230kph. Never have engine problems whatsoever too. So yeah my conclusion,  those so called benefits are nonsense waste of money only!

Don't get me wrong though, there are cars that surely can benefit from higher ron, for example my Evo coz I boost it higher than stock to 1.7 bars without tappering off, so the 97 do give ability to do that safely. So for such cars or other cars that are really set from the factory to drink 97 then yes, you should use 97, otherwise in most cars on the road today, it's a waste of money only.
*
but you had pour some petrol booster during fuelup of ron 95?
