Can
U can’t stop if they want to
That’s why the card should have a “reasonable” cap, which is make sense for the holder, not “more than” what needed lol
*
the best way is to use ic as identification with fingerprint and pin to confirm transaction. i'm not sure jpn will be willing to share their info. it'll endanger our personal info to outside unwarranted access.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ May 19 2018, 05:39 PM)
But that means the so called 'targeted' subsidy will still miss the target a bit or can still be subject to abuse or profiteering. That's why Indonesia also has not yet been able to do it and still resorting to subsidy for all.
*
previously bn moved the subsidy to brim, reduce tax and other direct subsidy method.

Let's see if Malaysia can really do a proper targeted subsidy. I'm not so optimistic though but who knows.
*
there have been plenty of targeted subsidy, it's not necessarily in form of petrol subsidy, the brim, rumah mampu milik, bantuan jkm/nelayan, kad siswa, ptptn (for those achieved 1st class), income tax exemption, duty stamp exemption and many others are also a form of targeted subsidy. the implementation of petrol subsdy would be quite tricky. anyway, there's always loophole in any forms of subsidy offered. what's important is reducing the loophole.

What if they don't file? Fine them?
There are still Malaysians out there don't have internet, electricity and access to clean water.

The policy must benefit the poor but also prevent too much wastage.
*
nothing, but they don't get the subsidy lor.

QUOTE(dinozilla @ May 21 2018, 12:00 PM)
This thread can tutup kedai? lol
i think people should still being aware about the actual market is like...

i'm against fuel subsidy. those who use less, receive less subsidy. similarly, those who ride kapchai use less fuel = less subsidy vs car owners. limiting subsidy may help, but it still give advantage to car owners.

1st sentence, against subsidy.
2nd sentence, compare subsidy between user usages.
3rd sentence, compare between vehicles.
4th sentence, limiting subsidy.

Problem, did not mention why you're against subsidy. If against why not state the reason it should be abolish?
*
spending ler. lower income spend less buy fuel. car use more fuel than motorcycle. end up lower income benefit less from fuel subsidy.

I can update la, but of course not confirmed...

However, as I informed end of last month, we are now effectively paying tax/subsidizing the government, instead of them subsidizing us...

As of 19 December, the estimated average price of RON95 is supposed to be RM1.94 and RON97 is RM2.08.

So basically every liter of RON95 you're filling up, you're effectively paying 26 sen more to the government, and even worse for RON97, you're paying 42 sen more...

I'm starting to hate this new government more and more.

So OPEC going to reduce oil produce starting 1st Jan right? The oil price will shoot up increase after that? Like that then no more fuel price reduction after 1st week? Oh~~
*
too bad if that happens.

QUOTE(KingArthurVI @ Jan 1 2019, 09:52 AM)
Not the government’s fault per se, it’s those petrol station operators and dealers who are making noise
*
consumer make noise, operators make noise, gov choose to listen to operators. they are guilty as they are now.

QUOTE(kirakun @ Jan 1 2019, 02:12 PM)
Guys, let’s not point all the guns at lge. Obviously lge is just the spokesmen for gomen. All decision comes from head of gomen. Obviously someone met with petrol station association on 31st of December just before the sudden announcement of hold on drop to fuel price.

Now let’s just wait for the fuel drop announcement later this week. Will hope that the new gomen will carry out reform as promised!
*
he's the minister, the lawmaker, be firm with decisions. u-turns just make it worse.

I dont know lah. But i heard our oil drilling more expensive and top quality and rather sell to overseas for better margin. Thats why we buy from singapore . Maybe its just rumours
*

it's true. our oil have low sulphur content, which makes it high quality. usually used to produced aircraft/jet fuel.

It is almost same like isr25 calculation, using same source aip.au, bank negara exchange rate (selling rate, 12pm). In fact I’ve been doing same prediction since petrol price start floating at BN time, most of the time quite accurate; and now PH changed the mechanism I assume, included the weekends, and my study on the cycle is friday-thursday. When doing calculation, ron95 is based on roundup figure (regardless of whether 0.001 or 0.009, still will roundup to 0.01), while diesel based on rounddown figure. Just my own study during all these 3 weeks’ petrol price changing.
*
round up till like that...

don't be naive. we have to differentiate between "have to listen" or "willingly listen".

blanket subsidy isn't a good/efficient form of subsidy. those who doesn't need or shouldn't get subsidy will be among the receivers.

QUOTE(muscaa @ Mar 9 2020, 07:50 PM)
The government will generate less money from oil and gas industry. To prevent deficit I reckon GST will make a come back
*

definitely good choice to reintroduce gst

QUOTE(Ultra+ @ Mar 9 2020, 07:55 PM)
GST will the the last measure the gov want to take. it's not popular move

It will be easier if the gov raise other taxes such as cigarettes, alcohol/sugar, gambling, road tax, income tax...etc
*

the problem with other taxes is their contribution is marginal and they didn't solve the underlaying black economy that gst solve. they can introduce different rate gst for different items. then, group all other taxes into 1 single gst.

QUOTE(alextan99 @ Mar 10 2020, 09:42 AM)
Well if they want to re-implement GST then they need to follow Singapore's model to reduce company/business and personal income tax. Can't be squeezing more and more from the citizen and business while they are bloating the civil servants headcount
*

bn did just that. as gst matured, the percentage becoming lower usually by weaving certain type of spending.

covid slowly going away, ppl start using more fuel vs mco. expect price going up consistently weekly as long as the petroleum powerhouse don't play trade games.
