I have a Sony TV & a Sony 5.1 HTIB. Audio is automatically output to the HTIB receiver & I can switch on/off both TV & receiver simultaneously with 1 remote. I believe this is called ARC

I installed unifi recently & got the HyppTV STB. When the STB is plugged into my system, it messes up the link between the TV & HTIB receiver. I get a "communication error" msg & all audio (astro/BR player/HyppTV STB) goes to the TV speakers. The on/off switch also no longer switches on/off both TV & receiver. When the HyppTV STB disconnected, everything goes back to normal. WTF??!!. Any sifu can help?

Last time I used to plug in the way you did but after using it for sometime. I switch my way of connecting to my receiver.

My connection now :- all the equipment plug in directly to the TV HDMI 1,2 &3 than used a optical cable connected to TV optical output to my receiver. So now I don't need to switch on my amp all the time if there are children and if I wanted to used my receiver to amplifier the Audio. I can used the optical external speaking option from my TV (Samsung).

1 hdmi cable between tv & receiver (arc)
receiver hdmi input #1 - astro
receiver hdmi input #2 - br player
receiver hdmi input #3 - hypptv stb
