I saw a lot of discussion going on, but i'm kinda stressed out with the selection.
I'm looking at 24~27" IPS Panel monitor, mainly is for entertainment and mainly gaming.
My budget is kinda limited here, i don't want to go up to 1.3k.
I'm ok with 1080p or 1440p as long as within my budget.
Strictly 16:9! Don't want to have native resolution that messed out gaming experience.(not all games support native resolution)
With this budget and IPS is a must, so i don't think there one that has more than 60hz refresh rate.

So far what's on my mind are
1) Dell InfinityEdge U2417H
2) Asus MX279HR (heard my friend said that Asus after sales services is very poor)
3) Samsung LC27F390FHEXXM <-- This is VA Panel I heard it's good one?

Do appreciate if you could share your experiences with your monitor. thumbsup.gif

Currently using Dell 2715H. Current online price RM1,069.

There's also Dell 2717H for RM969 online.

do check out with Viewsonic, lately they introduce wide range of IPS monitor.
http://www.lazada.com.my/viewsonic-ips-for-everyone/

Dell U2417H Vs VP2468 with 4 side borderless and look elegant for me.
Asus MX279HR Vs VX2776 with display port
Usually curve monitor not advisable for gaming.

Another option to consider is the U2515H. 1440p / IPS panel and just slightly above your budget smile.gif

I think most of us here (gamer) can tel the difference between 144hz and 60hz while playing FPS game. but i'm good with 60Hz. (i'm stuck with laptop IPS Matte Screen for few years now) And cool2.gif TN Panel really not my taste. Waiting for promotion and Lazada Voucher.

I wonder why there's no love for LG 23MP68VQ?

-Freesync @ 40-75hz
-IPS
-23'
-Thin bezel
-Less than RM600

The price is the thing, because it's dirt cheap in a way that we don't believe that such thing existed.. i did have few questions for this model
Why is it 40-75hz?
Some people shows that it can run Freesync 75Hz on even if you don't have AMD video cards
Anyone here have this model?

What are you talking about?
75hz is the standard refresh rate of the monitor.
40-75hz is the Freesync range.
How do you run Freesync without an AMD video card? Enlighten me.

SE2717H has the same spec but larger at 27'
Only at the price of less than 900. Ain't that too good to be true as well?
Clearly double standard here.

i thought 60Hz is the standard rate of the monitor?

My mistake here, you can't run a freesync but you can tweaked and run on 75Hz without using AMD cards, please refer to the link below

60hz is the norm of standard refresh rate doesn't mean it applies to every monitor out there.

There's monitor with standard refresh rate of 120, 144 and even 240. In this case, 75hz.

Regarding the Dell SE2717H

its not just too good, its true rclxms.gif

27 in monitor with 1080p IMO is very soft... very low ppi...

i think among your top three options, i'll pick Dell for its build quality and it has rotatable to 90 degree features.. (web browsing in portrait mode is awesome IMO)..

Samsung VA panel is good, you should look it in real life, go to lowyat plaza to check demo, it is nice not much different with IPS panel, and also very good contrast.. the problem is 27 in with 1080p only, if u stand very close to your monitor, u will see pixel
