Hi guys,

I was looking for a new Proton Preve CFE,

and I know that a lot of showroom have those demo unit with low milage and manufacured in 2015 and 2016 with much more discount.

Thus, I would like to know if there are any improvements is being done from 2015 to 2016?. If there is a lot of improvement over the years, then I think I would go for the one manufactured recently.

Thank you.

the rest stay the same (FC, maintanence cost, minor2 problems)

Same except very slightly retuned CVT . All sorts of minor problems to haunt you from day 1.

Wait for the new preve facelift. Preve launch since 2012 so the facelift preve should come this year since already 5 year.

Common problem include
Burnt headlight at least once every month
Burnt fuse box
Fan not moving while on the move
Fan won't stop after engine off
OCH even replaced under recall they still use the same material which prone to leak again, any replacement after is not covered.
Over cranking engine start up
High fuel consumption
Engine die off when put in reverse after cold night

Fan wont stop after engine off is normal (stop after 15s)
Unless its related to the relay fuse
Burnt fusebox havent xperience yet
Headlamp switch to HID with grouding, still workig after 1y usage
High FC its not a problem, its the car itself

One more issue with the Preve Turbo is the leaking of small pieces of sponge from the air cond vents. and it happened to my car twice.

Another issue is the plastic piece on the gear knob may become loose and fall off. This problem got fixed under warranty for my car.

Have a 2012 Preve:
- fan won't stop after engine off (heard this is normal behavior, happens to my Savvy sometimes)
- high fuel consumption (true, get around 9-10km/l only)

The rest of the above isn't so common IMO.

Yup, the plastic piece fell off within first year of ownership, but it's rectified already. Fixed once and it's ok.

Yup the infamous senduk and air-conditioning sponge.
You go to service center they will solve it permanently by using Super glue

1.5 years now, Preve Turbo. The CVT is the most annoyance, breaking before traffic light the CVT like dunno how to respond, it thinks I will slam the accelerator at any time so it become jerky...
From stationary, when you slam the accelerator... Wobwobwobwobwobwobwob.. (the sound)
=( Since day 1.

But still quite fun... No other/major issues.

Oya.
When you wind down the window, a gap appears between the power window console and armrest/handle. BECAREFUL, because when you rest your arm while you wind up the window (Power window), the gap will close AND WILL KEPIT YOUR HAIR... My right arm is bald in one spot...

All front and rear Seat will torn and can be replace under warranty
But still use back the same material so it prone to torn again. Not sure how much the seat cost after warranty.
Center console rattle under acceleration.
Front foot well prone to banjir after heavy rain
Air-cond leak water into passenger compartment
HU flickering

Your description seems very serious. Front and rear seats torn? I suppose it's just the edges may show a bit of wear. Not to the extent of the fabric tearing away.
