Hi. Not sure whether this is off topic or not. If it is, my apology.

I was wondering, do you people use VPN on the router? If yes, any recommendation based on personal experience.

FYI, I only want to watch movies and even on MiBox 3S and 50Mbps, it's not smooth at times.

It could be an issue with your network as the Mibox 3S doesn't have an Ethernet port for wired connections. WiFi network has to be healthy. However, once you've determined it's not from your network, then it has to be from the servers. As for VPN? For English content & within Malaysia (for now)? No VPN needed.. Can't speak for Chinese or otherwise content as some require a VPN connection to access.
Wifi speed next to the Mibox 3S is about 50 Mbps. I was wondering, does Unifi throttle the speed when it detects streaming? Hence my considering VPN.

English movies via kodi.

Thanks

Veteran here.. TM & streaming... I'm yet to experience any such throttling.. Except during the period with the damaged undersea cables. That was understandable.. Feel free to try a VPN.. Might help, either way you'll find out.

May I ask, are these streaming from overseas servers?

FYI. Once I received a more powerful router to replace the weaker Unifi router, I do intend to try.

Current I not yet subsribe Netflix, but do hope the box when using Netflix app can output Dolby Atmos for relevant movie. Those cheapo tv box can do this or not?

MY samsung tv got ARC but not eARC, so if using TV Netflix app probably won't be getting any Atmos audio output to my AV receiver. hmm.gif

Get a Fire Stick 4K. It have all those things you wanted, including Atmos and it's cheap.

Hi. Want to ask. Parents always want to watch Chinese programs using satellite dish. Is there any android box/apps that can do that using streaming? Thanks
