if willing to give up warranty, it's a good price.

u probably know all else about it, but there may be one thing u should be aware - this box works on google androidtv, i.e. it is not like most other android boxes with their own launcher, settings, etc.

i do not know for sure but i think it works just like the androidtv in premium smart tv's.

it has its own playstore, own rules, not as comprehensive as the normal playstore.

some apps like hulu and amazon will probably not appear in playstore once it detects non-US user.

u can sideload apps but it does not like certain types of apps, e.g. will reject certain apps deemed a security threat; some apps, it gives portrait view rather than landscape.

on the plus side, it gives netflix 4k, youtube 4k (useful if yr tv is 4k but has no androidtv). some apps actually work better becos they are designed specifically for android tv use.
too bad that we do not have enough nvidia shieldtv users here to provide a good review for local usage.
*
Probably not many here are using it since we can substitute to a cheaper box with decent hardware and use ehem2 stuffs than paying for subscription like Netflix and so on.

You know how certain videos, the actor's voice will be so soft, have to turn up the sound then boom explosion/music make you deaf, anyway to fix this? Software fix maybe?
*
Im not sure Kodi has this function but if via TV audio settings, usually there's an audio normalization or auto levelling feature.

anyone already got this? wondering if I am better off getting this (S912) or Himedia q10 pro.
*
If you are not using advanced audio setup at home and just using standard TV speaker, it is a go as h96 does its job well for basic Kodi streaming. This box is supported by Superceleron for his custom builds, similar performance to Beelink GT1 Ultimate it seems. You can check Freaktab on this.

But if you have advanced audio setup, requires post audio processing and handling which is lacking in S912, then go for Himedia q10 pro. It can handle better media processing if you have those intense processing requirements media files in local storage.

Noted, i will post the PCB pic later.
Never tried that, u mean power button on the box or IR remote?
It's an old box running Android 4.0 (QNET HD)
Googled and couldn't find any info about this box  bangwall.gif
*
Try to root the box using some old Android root exploit for Android 4.0, then install root app to reboot recovery.

I disable the wifi on my TV box, and connects to router via LAN cable.

Would that make any difference?
*
Running via cable offers better transfer than wifi (assuming gigabit port) and much lower problem unless cable quality or cable too long till signal horribly degrades issue.

Running via WiFi is easier as u don't need cables however u need to factor in interference, channels and diff speed / distance factor of 2.4ghz vs 5ghz.

Check your requirements, study your hardware and environment and u shall have the best case for your application

Any particular reason to choose Mecool among the 3?

If this is the case, what about this KIII Pro with Digital Freeview (whether compatible with Malaysia?)

Thanks a lot!!
*
MeCool is a more commonly used brand with a number of feedback compared to the other two. U can it from GearBest from around rm260 now. The Lazada link is priced more and shipped from overseas with no warranty too. I'd say if it's more exp, it has to be with local warranty to justify it.

Btw GearBest ships to my doorstep in about 5-6days. Pretty consistent based on my previous 4 purchase

that was before any firmware update that came along later which i think it may have been resolved hopefully. the above also happens on other S905x boxes MXiii i think which i bought for a friend. That one crashes so often until she decided to get rid of it

btw there's a dedicated beelink thread buried somewhere here
*
Beelink thread is dead here lol. I'm still on GT1 and GT1Ultimate with Android TV build by Superceleron dated around August 2017 lol. No update since then but I don't feel the need to flash anything since it works fine so far. Not using Kodi anymore tho so idk what is the update on blacks issue. I think it was resolved already.

I don't know, I Googled and says it is common problem with A2/A2 Lite remote.
I have plenty of Eneloop batteries but not AAA. doh.gif Hence, I had to use normal cheapskate batteries. Just changed to slightly better Panasonic Alkaline batteries since I have some spare from my hiking trip (headlamp).
Yeah, same as mine.  I got it bundled with my U1.
*
Im using GP rechargable batteries for it. Not using Gyro much since i run Android TV interface on my GT1 Ulti, toggled it on just for few secs each day if i need to access certain stuffs. The battery lasted around 1.5 months before it needs another recharge. Im using a separate wireless mouse to play hearthstone on my tvbox.

Thanks. But is it normal to appear a small static ad when a show is paused?
Too bad it doesn't allow donations anymore to remove ads, else I will gladly accept the offer.

You can get the optimized version on mobilism. Terrarium is just awesome!

Are u using free mx player? I remember it has ads when you pause it. That's not part of terrarium

hey guys.. i'm contemplating in getting an android tv box to replace my Raspi2 on LibreElec..

looking at Zidoo H6 Pro, Beelink GT1 and Beelink GS1.. any user here? pros cons?
*
GT1 here then flashed superceleron's Android TV ROM. All good for me but noticed u mentioned libreelec then it has to be Kodi. I stopped using Kodi for half a year now so I can't comment much on it

terrariumtv and kodi covenent on my box is rubbish nowadays. couldn't play most HD movies (lagging or just buffers forever). sometimes have to resort to online movie streaming webs from browser, that also always buffer. the only way to confirm can watch without disturbance is download the movie from terrariumtv and watch. is there something i can do to be able to use terrariumtv as usual? (i prefer this than kodi actually)

oh i'm using minix neo u1, 100mbps TIME fiber, connected via ethernet. speedtest never shows issue so i guess its not internet problem?
*
I resort to Kodi Elementum add-on if can't find decent source on Terrarium. Since terrarium is direct link streaming, realdebrid is the solution to get better sources

A quick read on Elementum looks positive. Will probably give it a try later thanks for the suggestion.

I actually prefer to stick to Terrarium mainly for the interface. After years of online movie streaming i guess i become comfortable with that kind of interface. Anyway the easy way for me to watch movie on Terrarium now is pick a movie, download, wait few seconds until it reach 10% or so and can start watch smoothly already. And delete the files from storage straight after. Because most of the time i'm on AoTG anyway, so a bit of hassle doesn't bother me

I agree. The UI is fluent and simple for navigations on TV. My parents enjoy using it as well compared to Kodi.

Why official YouTube app for Android tv keeps hang and stops playing on mecool m8s Pro L? Is this because they detect rooted device and cause it to hang?
*
Try updating or wait for an update. Happened to mine before last week after an update of YouTube for ATV. Now it is fine again.

The app will play a video for like 1min then blank out. Only way to recover is by force close it but it will happen again. During the moment I just use normal YouTube app.

The mi box s is absolutely dull in loading movies when using the titanium app. ANyone else knows what the issue is? I am using Unifi 30mbps and am unable to upgrade the speed , after confirming with TM. For now , the speedtest using fast.com via mi box s comes to about 24-25mbps of download speed.

However , when using the netflix or primevideo app, I have no lag issues.

Netflix and Prime uses own server. Titanium app?

It shouldn't..
Hi... Conglats on next step... The MiBox would be a great choice for Netflix and YouTube..iFlix? I'm not so sure but lets assume it'll work good too.. You will be able to completely ditch the Chromecast.. Unfortunately being ATV OS + a bunch of other Mibox related issues.. I've read that it doesn't offer a great Asterruk Go experience.. Recently a forummer confirmed that Asterruk works well on this MX10 PRO Android 9.0 4K box. So for budgetary reasons? You should consider getting that. Else, I would recommend Minix devices instead for now. Beelink & I still working on getting their unroot mode to work well with the stable Asterruk Go version off the Play Store. For now, only the beta app still works properly as a workaround. But only until it's killed server-side.  sweat.gif

I havent tried the Astro Beta, the Astro Go app is really troublesome requiring air mouse / mouse bangwall.gif I hope they do proper Android TV app.
