Finally. An informative thread for tv boxes. It will definitely help newbies find the info they need and stop annoying senior members with the questions.

I remember asking for info in the previous thread as there was no TS 1st post info and getting shot for asking lol 😁...

planning to get/test this box next after having 2 weeks with mibox3.Please share where you getting Minix Neo U1?
*
Bought mine from lazada. U1 together with A2 light mouse for RM519 :-
http://www.lazada.com.my/minix-neo-u1-quad...e-14300738.html

It was the best deal i've found around at that time (and the seller is in Malaysia, so quick delivery compared to overseas sellers) but pls do your own research. Maybe got better deals around now.

Minix Neo U1 is lower end version of Minix Neo U9? I heard U1 is able to support hypp tv channel?
*
Not considered lower end but U1 is the older one compared to u9 which was released sometime this year. Both also good boxes but if you want the latest, u9 is the one.

Longtime user of the minix u1 and still going strong. Just wandering if the new minix t5 is netflix certified? T5 is on android tv OS as well ya?

Anyways, the only thing I can fault the u1 is Netflix. Can't get it to play in HD.

What are your requirements and why did you decide on the Tanix T9 Pro in the first place as "best choice" to buy?
Unfortunately, like plenty others, none of the Minix devices are Netflix certified. The most you can get OOB is 540p res. Regardless it being powered by Android TV OS.

Can recommend any box that is netflix certified? Besides Nvidia...

Sure, generally I advise using the TV's in-built app. However, for scenarios where that isn't possible.. Here are a few confirmed netflix certified devices..

*Roku Ultra
*Roku Streaming Stick+
*Amazon's Fire TV 4K
*Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K
*Xiaomi's Mi Box S
*Apple TV
*Google's Chromecast

Thanks for the recommendations bro. I also use kodi. I assume that the mi box s would best suit my needs? Kodi, netflix, astrogo, YouTube
