QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Mar 16 2018, 02:23 PM) GT1 here then flashed superceleron's Android TV ROM. All good for me but noticed u mentioned libreelec then it has to be Kodi. I stopped using Kodi for half a year now so I can't comment much on it Yup.. kodi for local content.. moving on to paid content via netflix/iflix android apps.. not looking for pass-through so dont care much.. as long as manufacturer and community support is available for the product.. |

QUOTE(TBJ @ Apr 3 2018, 09:41 AM) bought one but need yearly subcription, can view international TVs + astro. want the same but no subcription. found stupid to pay yearly subcription for tv box. or it's the norm? IPTV thread is the other way... or.. use astrogo app and find family members to hook u with their account..This post has been edited by khairilyazit: Apr 3 2018, 09:57 AM |

QUOTE(kyle_kl @ Apr 5 2018, 01:56 PM) I haven't update the firmware yet... still thinking whether to do factory reset first I have tried both the HyppTV and AOTG from Google Play, HyppTV is working fine but for AOTG, i am not able to play the channel. It always prompt me to setup the remote control and link to Astro decoder, no idea how to skip it QUOTE(kyle_kl @ Apr 5 2018, 03:33 PM) I am using wireless mouse + Minix default remote control I download the app from Google Play store. In fact the app now is "My Astro", i can't find "Astro on the Go". I think they just update it Anyway, i will do a factory reset. If it still does not work, i will download from APK Pure. Another problem: it seems HyppTV does not support with Ethernet connection? After i change the Wifi to Ethernet , i am unable to play the content. I also tried the "Faked wifi status" in Setting, it still does not work. QUOTE(puchongite @ Apr 5 2018, 03:42 PM) I think "My Astro" and "Astro Go" ( previously "Astro On the Go" ) are two different apps. AstroGo needs an Astro ID thats linked with an Astro Account.. its not free.. u need to know someone who has a paid Astro subscription and ask them for access to their Astro account.."My Astro" is an app which works with Astro. "Astro Go" is a pure IP app, an independent access via internet to view astro programmes. |

Need online register 1st before can login ? yup.. got free channel.. still need to register but dont need to link smartcard... ada button to skip linking..Oh, just online register, and these 2 channels are free even don't have the paid Astro subscription? hypptv can straight subscribe, even without unifi subs... but the app is horrible... off-topic already.. |

QUOTE(jdgobio @ Aug 8 2018, 12:47 PM) Thanks for the feedback. The thing is my friend is not a tech savvy guy and his media consumption habits are very limited due to work. He is thinking of getting a chromecast and I'm trying to discourage him from it and get something which is of similar cost (around RM200). If he die die dont want to kacau the box/stick after 1st setup, chromecast is a good option.. he can select from phone and watch from tv.. thats it.. easy.. but only upto 1080p.. for 4k content, he will need a chromecast ultra and atleast 25mbps internet.. 1080p only need 5mbps..Why is the stick not a good idea? Due to sluggishness? From glancing at some reviews it seems to be better than the original stick and good enough for most users but I can't find any local reviews or experience with it. The Mibox is a good idea but I need to convince him to spend a bit more. |

QUOTE(jdgobio @ Aug 8 2018, 09:58 PM) Chromecast requires the use of a phone to cast. Having a traditional remote to control is a much better experience compared to casting. Its not that he die die don't wanna kacau after setting up, I just want him to have the best & simplest experience since he's a noobie. Well.. astro then..Or apple tv.. |

QUOTE(azroy @ Oct 15 2018, 03:21 PM) yup. 5g wifi but what bandwidth? How many streams?5g wifi and cat5e also giving same speed. my laptop shows 400-500mbps. so there is no issue from my router i guess. Chipset limitation perhaps? Or interference?
