Any member using an Android tv box to view olevod? I realised they have apk for it
Will the video quality be as clear as the version watched on browser?

Any review for feedback for Realme Stick 4K? My main intention is for Disney+ Hotstar, Youtube and Cast from laptop / smartphone |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ May 20 2022, 06:14 AM) IIRC I've read some users from the US have issues with the stick freezing at some point. Are you specifically looking for the stick's design? the ONN Android TV device seems to be a decent alternative (around RM180), since the market is flooded with it after it was sold on clearance in the US last year. Hi thereThanks for your feedback Not specifically must be stick, reason was because I try to get one at about RM180 and boxed are always around RM300 I saw this ONN box ads too when browsing for Realme 4K stick but I skipped it for the low price and I am not familiar with boxes brands Is this a reputable brand? It has Disney+ button on the remote (not sure whether works with Hotstar tho) Review seems good and only commented the cons is lack of DOlby Atmos which I don't really care Benchmark also shows performance slightly above Mi Box S I managed to find RM160 at Shopee and sounds like a good buy * Darn Walmart is selling for less than USD20 |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ May 20 2022, 11:16 PM) The Onn should be okay. Usually for me, if the brand is willing to invest in getting license for Android TV, it deserves a look. The license is not really that cheap (since you need to make sure your device supports Widevine DRM Level 1) so they need to make a device that people would actually buy. ThanksGuess I will stick to this as the new UPB does not really worth RM480 (RM20 x 24 months) |

QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ May 22 2022, 04:20 PM) Walmart's own in house brand is ONN, they rebrand a lot of stuff to sell under the Onn brand. Well at least it should be better than those no brand boxes Yes but now many are complaining on Reddit that the remote constantly unpairing itselfThe Disney+ button probably opens the US Version of Disney+ which won't work here Walmart acknoledged the issue but yet to have any fix up to now So I am reconsidering it as it is gonna be painful if remote not working |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ May 23 2022, 07:06 AM) True. The other cheaper options for me would be the Mecool KD1. I am using one and it has no issues for me at least (I actually bought and tested a bunch of Android TV devices during MCO because I have nothing to do). Wow what a hobby to pass time during MCO!The only thing is that it does not have Netflix license, so if you want Netflix this is not for you. Since alucard89 mentioned his unit is fine I might still go for ONN box Mainly those who complained said it could be resolved by placing an icebag onto the box so most probably it was due to chip overheat or hardward issue by batch QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 23 2022, 07:15 AM) Bro mind to help me the following?1. How long have you been using this ONN ATV box and how many hours do you stream typically? 2. General review, mainly on the cons that you had faced Thanks in advance! QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 23 2022, 08:29 PM) Got it since dec last year Thanks for the info bro!Usually just open it up whenever new movies out or for my weekly tv shows But lately just open it up for my son didi n friends video playlist So far all good, just 1 minor issue to control the power for my really old sony sound system. I can control the volume just fine but not powering it on/off which is something firetv 4k and tivo 4k can do just fine. Other not support dolby atmos/vision, it can pretty much play anything you throw at it. Technicallly the hardware can support but something about them not paying extra for those and keep the price low if you’re in the mood for tweaking the box (root etc), there’s a dedicated thread at xda https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unoffici...evices.4313743/ Storage not really an issue if you just use the usual streaming service. If you use kodi and add some custom skins and streaming addon, might need to do some regular housekeeping to clear the cache or logs My usage will be on Disney+ Hotstar, Youtube and miracast for TVB drama only, and maybe Netflix in the future You tried casting? How was it? Since Disney+ Hotstar does not support Dolby Atmos so it doesn't matter On ther emote controlling for other devices I am fine as long as it has no issue controlling the tv box I am using my unifi remote for my white STB and TV, no other AV devices Might explore on VPN on the box later on as it would be good for some georestricted youtube videos And lastly, do you have the link where you bought it? Thanks again! |

QUOTE(alucard89 @ May 24 2022, 12:27 AM) I don’t really do casting, but no issues Thanks for the feedbackWith kodi, pretty much everything is there lol Surfshark is pretty good choice, can select apps that goes thru vpn connection so others still on msian ip From walmart site, use forwarder like buyandship. If too much trouble like your orders getting cancelled then better just order from shopee btw, try add this for your ambient tv back light, I’m just missing the power supply to get this up and running 😅 linkinstreet alucard89 After a little digging I came to this article Apparently the fix for ther emote unpairing itself issue was released https://9to5google.com/2021/09/11/walmart-o...te-august-2021/ Security Patch Level Update (August 2021) Upgrade of Remote Control Unit (RCU) FW v1.44 Fix for the system hang issue Fix for the RCU disconnect issue Fix for auto language change issue Fix for Wi-Fi WPA2 connection issue I am pretty much convinced that this will be a good buy Will just get it from Shopee because with forwarder and who knows got taxed later it might come to the same amount plus warranty Next after getting the box will be research on kodi |

alucard89 Does your Onn remote need to be paired almost everytime you launch the box after like turning it off overnight
And how about connecting to wifi? Mine after a night off, 50% of the time it will ask for remote pairing and wifi is not connected, but the wifi issue can be solved by toggling wifi on / off |

QUOTE(eauyong @ Jun 5 2024, 08:55 AM) onn. Android TV UHD Streaming Device - 2382 (N) <Made by Askey Computer Corp., subsidiary of ASUSTeK Computer> The box is superb for that priceIF there is one thing to complain, I feel that the UI is slightly less responsive/not as butterly fluid vs before the Android 12 upgrade Nevertheless, I am still happy with it serving me more than 2 years now & thanks to the recommendation from fellow forummers here eauyong liked this post
