This is a good reference for the boxes specification & performance ranking.

I just realised that majority of the time, the lagging in using iptv, is actually due to the iptv service provider/source.

I compared between 3 scenarios.

Using YouTube - no lag whatsoever up to HD
Using payed iptv - really really minimal lag/sangkut
Using free iptv - lagging like there's no tomorrow until feel like throwing the box into the sea.

Btw I'm using Internet with 8mbps speed.

We did.. Couple posts back. Don't think anyone here has hands-on it yet. The specs does seem good. Perhaps, you can grab it and leave a review.

I really want to. But my GT1 still working strong. sweat.gif
A bit disappointed with Beelink as no more FW update since a year ago.

But we'll see if my impulse buying mood, kicked in soon.

11.11 sales around the corner...

BTW how's the stability now of gt1? If firmware ady stable then should be OK unless u have different needs that gt1 not able to meet...
*
Yeah it is stable. But outdated android version.
Tho I won't recommend that brand to anyone else. (Just my own opinion)
Somehow, the price and capability of the box not really a good match.

I seriously doubt that KM9 box will support Netflix 4k.
Youtube 4k might has some hope.

Those 4K capability come with a pricey license, and at that price point, I doubt the box able to afford it.

Tho it indeed would be awesome if it is real.

Hello Sifus,

Similar to bro tharmaraj, I'm also looking for an Android Box to play Astro Go, playtv@Unifi and Kodi among others.

I have pinpointed Minix U9-H as the box to go for. But I'm a complete novice when it comes to Android, as I have always been using Apple devices and never owned or used an Android device. Thus there are some questions with regards to the usage of this Minix box:

1. The unit that I'm going to purchase is "clean", without any pre-installed app (I think). Thus how can I install Astro Go and playtv@unifi? Is it through Google playstore? Do I need to register a Google playstore account to download the app? If yes, can I use my existing Google ID (Gmail) to do that?

2. With regards to Kodi, I understand that there are some "add-ons" which would allow me virtually unlimited possibilities to watch and stream contents. But how do I insall these add-ons? Is there a "store" within Kodi that allows me to do that?

3. I have come across lots of mention of the term APK, may I know what is this? If it is useful for my content streaming needs, how do I install that?

4. I understand that this Minix box is installed with Android version 6.xx, and that is not the latest Android firmware. Can I update it to the latest Android? If yes, should I update it? Will the installed app in the box be lost if I update it?

Thanks a lot!
*
1. Yes. Through G.playstore. Login using your gmail.

2. Go and google the name for which specific add-on or even a 'build' (a template which got a prefixed add-on). Then go youtube. If the name popular enough, someone will do video tutorial on how to install/setup/setting.
Example: Build Chart

3. APK is what we call the apps installer. i.e: Facebook APK - then google for the download link

4. No idea, better wait for someone who own the actual box.

Hello all, I'm rather new in this and I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a TV box worth RM200 and below but reliable enough and user friendly. Wifi 5Ghz is a bonus spec.

I used before TX3 Mini but it doesn't belong to me. I'd also like to know other than Kodi, what other apps would be good for streaming english and chinese movies and tv series.

I recently tried and found out that Terrarium is no longer in service.
*
Before that, why tx3 mini not good for you? Any specific reason?

I thought on paper it kinda good enough for beginner.

Seems like an early finding by a turkish guy,
Mecool KM9 is able to play UHD content on Netflix.

Either by a loophole or official, remains to be seen.

Awaiting an indepth review.

Its a generic airmouse remote.
The diff with mine is the back-lit. Which on average rm30.

Go to shopee or lazd.

Its MX3 airmouse.

The airmouse is nice and the keyboard at the back has a good clicky feeling.

I coupled it up with Rii i8 keyboard.

Both gave me the best experience (cheap-style) in controlling android box.

Seems like you got extra money to play around.
And you didn't even blink at NShield.

So be a darling and try one among below and give us a sweet sweet review.

hi need help.

i bought mine from lazada, i think its a t9 (is this a brand?), 4gb/16gb. i encounter something strange, the tvbox will auto start n render my tv to on as well, this happen 3 to 4 times in one day, sometimes in midnight, anyone have encounter similar problem? i go to setting but cant find anything like timer or autostart.
*
Highly probably something to do with HDMI-CEC setting.

Facing similar issue last time. What I did is change my HDMI output to non-CEC port at the TV side.
And disable CEC option in setting of my box.

I'm no expert in it so you need to do your own research as well.

Others with better understanding might be able to chime in more info or helps.

Wow... Roku streaming stick+.

Really unique choice.
But for sure not for me as i need to install some other apps beside the few famous streaming services.

There's still no new android tv box that catches my attention at the moment.

Still using beelink gt1 for dunno how many years already. 3 maybe.
Still ok. But now feeling the capacity bottleneck.

There's a budget box that has good performance.
Tho the box design kinda meh for me. So no trigger pulling yet.
X96 max+ using x905x3.
should be rm200-300 range.

Review from multiple sources gave good scores.

I wish beelink gt king has better price.
Same with Ugoos AM6... But yeah....
