Ok, my modem and router is in 1st floor, during renovation i pulled a cat5e to my ground floor living room for internet purposes. Now i using it for my cctv recorder at my living room. Can i use internet splitter for a single cat5e for cctv recorder + tv box at my ground floor living room? Will it work? Because my unifi hypptv doesnt work. The installer told me tv box use different channel that i will lose access to recorder if want to use tv box..

ur installer trying to con u.
if your cctv using ethernet then sure its the same, unless ur cctv using other cable.

not sure what u mean hypptv box, because that must use the specific port on the router already pre-configured.

I got a tv box from unifi and the installer told me it's different channel from cctv recorder. Need to manually change the channel only can use either 1. So no problem if i use cctv and tv box at the same time right? With a cable from router then split it to 2 port (1 for cctv n 1 for tv box)?

The installer is right...but it's not really called "channel"... the HyppTV box uses Lan port 4 configured to "vlan 600" ... internet uses vlan 500 for Lan port 1-3

Very easy...Keep the modem upstairs...move the router downstairs and you can have it for cctv, HyppTV, other android box, etc. The modem and router doesn't have to be side by side.

If you want to keep HyppTV upstairs and new android box downstairs...then keep the router upstairs and see if the android box can be connected using wifi... if cannot, you will need another router downstairs... in networking, the router performs the "splitting"...

Yaya what i mean is vlan.. if i use 4th port set to 500vlan can i use it for cctv and tv box? With 1 cable then split to 2 cat5e? My upstair have 2pc so i need modem upstairs. What you suggest? Modem at 1st floor. 2pcs upstairs and doenstairs cctv + tv box..

Ouch...big problem...

Easiest will be to use powerline adapter connect to Lan 4 and HyppTV box, otherwise you need to bring the cable modem & router downstairs and a new router upstairs...

But for tvbox i will buy himedia Q10 so the problem is after i buy this can i use with same cable with cctv? I wont use hypptv..

What i Mean is, modem router upstairs (Lan 1 n Lan 2 for 2 upstair pc, Lan 4 for downstairs and split it to cctv + himedia box)

Yes.

Networking is not like say power wiring...cannot just split 1 wire to 2 wire/connection.

To "split" you need a network switch...but I recommend a cheap wifi router...so upstairs Unifi router connect to new downstairs router and then you can connect cctv & Q10pro to it...

I think Q10pro should be able to connect wirelessly to upstairs router 1 floor up...try it first...

Yeah i already bought 5port network switch.. you mean i need 1 router? 1st floor and also ground floor?
