any opinion on KM8 pro android box?

any opinion on this box?

my budget ceiling is anything below 300

just placed order for km8 pro box....

amlogic s912 chip
2gb ram/16gb internal
android 6.0 so hopefully still able to expand internal memory via SDcard


in the meantime, im using my laptop+hdmi out to tv if i want to watch online tv via kodi pc....

as long as it can play kodi without lagging and doing file transfer/connectivity good enough...i'm ok with it...

another factor i pick this box is because it came with dualband wifi capability (like most other amlogic s912 chip box)...

coz the tm router is dualband and i got 2 phone/device with 5ghz wifi...so i was able to enjoy faster wifi internet....

yeap....definately its all true...

and since the box will sit near to the router... distance wouldnt be much problem....and i plan tu hook lan cable as well to the box....


for now, its a waiting game...



btw, now my main concern is if the box came in the box already rooted (as most other china android device), installing ASStrX OTG would be slightly difficult and need extra effort......will research on that more later on...

its either via volume levelling....


or find another video source...

i test install hypptv everywhere on the phone

and hard truth is just only able to watch the basic free package...

and my aneka pack couldnt watch

ok after talking to live chat helpdesk....


got the proper login id/password back and login with proper account....now i got all my actual channel working

call tm or using livechat at tm website to get your @iptv login id and password.....

(the same one the unifi installer use to login into your hypptv at home during install)

after login using that id, i definately able to watch all subscribed channel

the login page when u open the hypptv everywhere app....

username: xxxxxxxxx@iptv
pwd: iptv password


should work without problem...

my KM8 pro OTT tv box arrived today....


boy it was small...smaller than unifi hypptv box...


but only monday i'll write simple review here...not at home this weekend...

should be any box that s able to install from playstore/sideload should be no problem right?

if we select that option, does we need to uninstall the #SU?

and does we will be able to root it back again?



my KM8pro android box came rooted out of the box....


hypptv everywhere not working on all channel... error 111 bla bla bla....while worked perfectly on my phone... not yet tried disable LAN and use wifi....


meanwhile my phone can run hypptv everywhere perfectly, just cannot run aotg due to rooted device....



but GOOD NEWS is KM8pro is fast and highly capable device.....tested default kodi that were preloaded...all link dead...uninstall the beta kodi....then install official kodi 17 krypton from playstore...voila...install all the needed add-on....works like a charm....

just i need to think of an active cooling/fan system.... especially when devices all put together nearby each other....
tm stb, modem, astro, android box bla bla bla......



next step will bring back those 4k vids and high bitrate 3d rendering movie from office to test at home....

early setup last night also makes me unable to sleep till 5am...then woke up at 6am to work.. lol
mainly because after installing kodi, i'm watching random tv series to verify as much as possible that the addon were working good...

install...all plug n play...even the seller include an additional adaptor to convert 2 pin plug into 3pin plug...

the size is quite minimal and clean... no external antenna....

powering on...quite fast....


tested media:
-4k (uhd mp4 video clip from my 4k drone recording) works great no stutter or lag...it just play immediately
-mp3 with 320kbps also works good



-kodi came preinstalled but all of the installed link not working...
so i've uninstall the kodi...and reinstall latest version from playstore....all working great...

-game not yet tested...(not really interested on gaming purpose)

-air mouse/keyboard not yet bought... so kiv on that....



-on audio is quite decent...i didnt expect high end sound...since i hook my logitech 5.1 pc speaker to the tv and live with that....so sound transferred thru hdmi...so it should be fine....

while watching from kodi and/or playing mp3 all speakers sending appropriate sound true to 5.1 speaker output...



-only complain is i felt the device was a bit warm... (solved by using laptop cooler fan at the bottom of the device for cooling....also sit besides it sharing the cooler fan is the unifi modem)


-and remote receiving angle wasnt that great on the device...had to point a bit more towards the device... (apparently the device is designed to sit on higher level like top rack above your tv for optimum remote control receiving angle)

-i found another issue with KODI specifically on sound production....
*everytime i play audio/video/streaming, the when i select upmix option and left it there (i set volume gain 60db), the first time, audio will be loud and crystal clear, but when i play other media next time around, the sound level will be back to normal (not the loud 60db gain as set before)....while checking again in the stereo upmix, it was remain unchanged.... BUT then when i cycle it off...then turn on back again the stereo UPMIX, then it will be loud again like the way it should after setting it the first time....
*THIS might be issue on KODI and nothing wrong on the box itself i guess....

because it doesn happen if i play any media directly from other apps (not using kodi)

in the rm25x price range

will test when im back at home....

but should be working fine i guess....

apparently they didnt send the sms on our info needed to login...

its "yourname@iptv" login id and password

yeah on my new androidbox...

apps intalled fine.... but channel only a few is working...other channel shows error 111....weird thing is on my tablet it works fine
