Buy a good well known and or verified box and you won't have to go seeking a physical shop to buy. Cuz it'll just work as intended. Just buy online and it's delivered to you... You go to some shop and get sold crap by the sleazy salesman.. Later comeback here to complain how the shit box you bought from an "expert" isn't doing all you wanted and you've wasted money..

You say "watches and streams all kinds of videos"..
1. That's too vague
2. Wants something that does it all but your budget is sub RM300..? That's never going to happen. Good things no cheap and cheap no good.. Manufacturers and software devs have to eat too..

Read through the entire first page (few times if difficult to grasp) and the last...at least 20 pages for such recommendations.. It's in there and public knowledge.. No extreme spoonfeeding here. My apologies, I'm blunt this way and mean no offense.
*
budget 300 is not too shabby la
those range can play all type of media.

unless he wan netflix/asteruk... tat different story
but those apps is still on sw level, hw itself aldy good enuf

Is there is cheap boxes that support input of streaming radio link?
I don't think I need display or video.
Basically I just need one box that can play streaming radio and feed to a speaker system.
But I wouldn't think this is possible without display right?
There would need be some menu and so on.
*
since u r out of budget jus use bluetooth and play from ur phone... can use
avr with bluetooth integration
or bluetooth speaker
or bluetooth 3.5mm device addon to ur speaker system

if u wan high quality audio, u need
1. tv box with multi pcm passthrough
2. avr with 32bit audio dac
3. at least 5.1 audio system... and up to 12.2.2

hi i just ordered himedia q5 pro n im wondering whats the best connection sequence for my samsung 4k tv + denon avr + q5 pro..should i connect q5pr0 >avr >Tv or q5pro>tv>avr? Wanna get best AQ possible without sacrificing PQ..my tv didnt support DTS so cant passthrough dts if any..😬😬
*
ur tv got hdmi out? if yes use this one... box > tv > avr
dts doesnt matter, coz can set audio passthrough

if box hv dts/dolby decoding (dont need use passthrough) and tv/box hv multi pcm optical out
can use box > tv > avr also... or box > avr with box > tv

explanations: audio is transmitting digital signal, mean no lost in format/quality

the benefit... no need turn on avr for all viewings

Wrong.. Can't say DTS doesn't matter, cuz some TVs have no idea what to do with signals they don't support. To avoid such, just connect to AVR first and let it pass the unadulterated video signals alone to the TV. Let the TV do what it knows how to do best.. Display stuff.. TV speakers even high-end ones are shit compared to dedicated AVRs with speakers.. Anyone who bothers to get a separate AVR obviously cares about sound reproduction. Even 2.0 stereo will sound so much better using dedicated audio equipment, than from TV speakers. So while signals is same, reproduction depends greatly on equipment being used. Lastly, he already mentioned...
-his TV is incapable of passing DTS signals.
-Wants best AQ possible.
To fulfill all requirements, must connect..Box - AVR - TV.
*
nope u r wrong, we live in digital world... no longer analog

passthrough mean not decoded, and it is still in digital format.
it doesnt matter how many device it passthrough it is still not processed.
the tv doesnt need to know it is in dts formats, as long as it know it is audio signal (in metadata) is enuf.

---
in the case of multi pcm, the signal is also in digital format.
the only difference is, the audio contents aldy processed and separate in nicely multiple channel (in raw digital formats, wav).

✌🏼

Which part of the TV is unable to handle certain audio formats and as such won't process it don't you understand? Also, to tell you I know my stuff.. The HDMI out you speak of is HDMI-ARC right? I'll tell you this much. HDMI-ARC is a limited format as it's still based off the older spdif format and as such shares certain limitations. AFAIK, there isn't a single commercially available TV, even at the last CES 2018 that's capable of outputting lossless ATMOS/DTS:X over ARC. Much less older gen TVs. That's just an example. So it doesn't matter if the signals are digital or not. If the hardware is physically incapable of handling it. It stops there.. Period!
*
im not sure bout the capability of the port itself,
u might rite in this case. whistling.gif

theory wise it will works...

but there is no point of arguing, he can easily test it out.
as there is audio format indicator at the avr...

can register up to 4devices, which can run simultaneous 2 devices if i remember well.
once u register to up 4 devices, the 5th devices u login to need to swap with current deviced logged in. they hv cap of how many can swap, around 4 times.
once max, then u need to wait it reset monthly.

How many devices per user ID Q&A:-

All info show in https://unifi.com.my/tv/packages/unifi-playtv.html

=====================
unifi TV pack subscribers would get complementary user ID that can be used on two devices at the same time.

You can also subscribe to a plan that enables five devices sharing.

Hi. I am new to this Android Box because all the while using Astro IPTV which I seldom watch. What a waste...

I am thinking to try android box, as a beginner which box that you all like to recommend? Perhaps its should be long lasty and stable?

I did surveyed some sites, I found H96 Max or X99 are quite good in terms of their specs (RK3399) but quite expensive too. While the other that I saw more cheaper like MX10, T95z and H96 Max (RK3328)

I really need your favor to advise me for the android box as well as the tv packages in the market?

Thanks in advance ya! biggrin.gif
