Any GoogleTV owner and Emby user here?

May I know if the search will show the result from Emby (if the content available), and if you watch something halfway, does it appears in the "continue watching."

Thanks

Google Chromecast with Google TV

i think this would best for kids usage. because u require Netflix( this can support 4k netflix) and the android os tv would be the best since its kid friendly ui.

These boxes cost a bit more cos they come with "free" channels, lots of them. Switch on, click the app, and off you go.
Or you can get a standard Android box and install your own apps, but then not so plug-and-play.

hi all, I was thinking to either buy EvPad or SVI Cloud media player. Do you all know whether these media players support Dolby Atmos passthrough? I have a JBL soundbar that support Dobly Atmos.

Hi Sifus,
I have a MINIX NEO U9-H bought couple years ago.
Currently it can only watch RSS Asian drama and downloaded movies from HDD.
The preloaded free movies apps like popcorn, KODI stopped having updated source long ago.

My question,
Is there any other apk i can try? Are the days of free movies apps gone?
Is the issue with my the box being outdated? Should I get a new box like MI Box etc?
I do not subscribe to any netflix, iflix, amazon etc, and do not plan to.

I am now considering getting a mi stick just for netflix. as my tv is old and smart.

TLDR, can i still salvage the Minix ?

Really appreciate your help.

Get a Xiaomi MiBox. It's reliable and fuss-free for 1080p stuffs.. Netflix & YouTube handles well... IMO, I find the Google Chromecast with Google TV still expensive considering its limitations and that cheaper boxes (with some spit) can do what it does and more.

My first time hearing of this brand.. Googled and I see they market boxes with 6K terms.. once i see such blatant over-selling & false advertising, I'm immediately turned off that manufacturer. So I'd recommend you stay away and instead purchase something from more well-known & truthful brands.

Until those apps or services stop working and then you are left doing what you should have done in the first place. Buy a box that's clean and runs well. Install what you need and swap/switch services at will. Gotten too many PMs about such "plug n play/1-click" boxes.. mostly complaints.

Nope, and they probably never will.. Hackery aside, they would have to pay Dolby licensing fees to include such on "their" boxes. Which and to be frank would be a waste of their money. Because 99.99% of their buyers are fully satisfied with mono or stereo audio.. One does not need DA to enjoy IPTV content. Local file playback? sure you can enjoy it.. But as earlier, the overwhelming majority of their customers don't buy such boxes with DA audio compatibility in mind.

Yes, you can still salvage the Neo U9-H... You just need to relearn how to use Kodi properly and install other choice apps. Check out my YouTube channel for some tips n tricks... I used Kodi V18 in those videos. So try with V19, but if you run into too much difficulty? Uninstall and manually install V18 then add the addons back in. not all "older addons" play nice with the new Kodi V19. If you end up running V18? Remember to disable the Google Play Store's apps autoupdate feature, so V19 isn't forcefully installed.

Dont simply listen to people who knows nothing

Ive owned 2 1) Longtv and 2) iboute x boxes - despite court cases still been running for 4 years now. U just buy them , connect to internet and tv and off you go

Dont have to deal with all those installation issues as some of the apps are proprietary to the vod servers and these MAC addresses are already registered into the VOD servers

U dont have to deal with the buffering of these apps which u installed free on these boxes. in the end these apps are just no different than torrent players out there ...

If youre into movies and dramas just go for these SVI Boxes, Long Tv , and etc VOD servers boxes as I can at least guarantee u dont have to come to lowyat to check out installation and running issues.

Some of these VOD boxes have custiomer service locally like Long Tv ..so u can straight away ask for help
Internet just let it run more than 100MBps and u have no problem running IPTV content.

Really the money u pay for these vod boxes outweight the time u require to figure out all those installation

The only downside is that LongtV doesnt often stream HD or 4k quality video often is standard ...

hence i still have it as a backup ... i saw SVI Cloud as pretty reliable box .

Your Netflix & reliability requirement makes it tougher to recommend certain others.. For instance, I'd like to see ChickenRiceBoy recommend one of his OMGWTFBBQ boxes output Netflix at 4K UHD with HDR10/DV & DA... haha

Really... I'm people who knows nothing...?? Haha.. Joke of the year bro... Here, I copy pasta what i replied to you in one of the 3 other posts you commented so knowledgeably... Seriously, you should take your advice and not listen to yourself.. Curious about MyIPTV4K? Don't be.. Checkout SyberTV & iGO IPTV services. I already did all the work for you..You are welcome.. But hey, if you still want to know about MyIPTV4K's service in comparison? I could review them as well..Oh wait.. why do you want to know about their performance when you already have your godly EVPAD & LongTV that can never do wrong..? haha.. You really made my day buddy.

QUOTE
This is why you need to educate yourself first before commenting like an expert. Even I also don't dare to comment with the amount of confidence you are exhibiting AND I actually have legit experience with Android TV boxes of varying specs and capabilities. Here.. despite replying to you in the other thread.. let's learn a bit here too.
*Shopee DOES NOT make boxes.. No such thing as Shopee boxes.. Your highly touted boxes also sold on Shopee. So they rubbish too?
*Name a single model from those three brands that actually outputs Dolby ATMOS.. Show proofs please, as I would love to update my knowledge too.
*Apps are easily installed from the official Google Play Store or third-party store or heck, download on a USB drive or directly on the device for manual installations. With a decent internet connection AND a fast box (solid specs and firmware DOES matter), you'll be up and running in under a minute. So what's the "hassle" you talk about?
*Feel free to browse around the forums and you can find posts where people who bought certain pre-loaded boxes got fed up when those services break or stop working completely. Here's what I tell them.. Focus on getting a new box, install exactly what you need, and enjoy. if App A breaks or no longer works? Uninstall and install App B... rinse repeat as much as you want... Want easier? There's Kodi and you just play with addons je..
*Regarding cooling.. What to do... You have only dealt with crappy boxes & so I can understand your misgivings.. I've run the Beelink GS-King X all day 24/7 with ZERO cooling issues.. Gaming on it is sick too. You can check out my review videos to see what it's capable off.. Similarly, with the Mecool KM1 Deluxe I reviewed... here, for easier access.. i'll include the videos... You should try emulating the God of War: Chains of Olympus game using the PPSSPP Gold Emulator on an EVPAD box..See how well it plays.. tongue.gif

This is Part 2 of a 3 part series..

Want to know what a good box can do? Watch the videos and read the text reviews of the Beelink GS-King X (Android + NAS) TV Box (notice how much ventilation it has) and that of the Google Certified Mecool KM1 Deluxe 2020 (Actual 4K & not some fake 6K touting box) TV Box. Trust me when I say specs matter. You don't simply say all cars are the same and specs don't matter.. do you? Lastly, what if I told you, that you don't have to purchase a LongTV or EVPAD or whatever moniker "Lifetime IPTV Box" AND still get the same or perhaps better streaming service? Oh, I've got a video for that too.. I'm embedding the iOS version for visual effect because YouTube didn't flag it, unlike the Android-specific version which can be found here...

There are so many such services.. Different pricing, plans, service, etc.. So yeah, I'd rather buy and use a good box and just install any of these compatible services on it.. Its cheaper in some cases WITH significantly better hardware. Don't even get me started about hardware like the Nvidia Shield. Did you try that too and found it lacking? It is a box that CAN actually handle and output Dolby ATMOS & Dolby Vision easy... icon_rolleyes.gif
